Situated in the foothills of Blencathra Fell, close to Greystoke, Whitbarrow Village provides a friendly family ambiance, combined with quality accommodation.  The resort was originally converted from an 18^th century Cumbrian Farm, and now has everything to entertain the whole family throughout your stay.  The outstanding and newly renovated leisure centre features a friendly bar and a la carte restaurant plus downstairs you will find a heated indoor swimming pool, children's splash pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room, gym and table tennis.  Within the village you will also find a crazy golf course, putting greens, giant outdoor draughts/chess board, children's adventure play area, mini football area and laundry room.  Towards the end of 2008 there will also be an all weather tennis court and holistic therapy treatment centre.  This popular holiday village is only minutes drive from Ullswater, one of the Lake Districts most romantic lakes.  The reception provides DVD rental, tourist information service and an internet station.  The historic town of Penrith is 10 minutes away and Lake Windermere is less than half an hours drive. 

The Ullswater apartments are the newest and most luxurious addition to the village and have been constructed, furnished and equipped to a very high standard.  Built as an extension to the existing leisure centre the apartments feature design statements and themes consistent with the newly renovated leisure facility. 

These apartments are either on ground or first floor.  The properties are all open plan, are centrally heated and comprise:  Lounge area with flat screen LCD TV, DVD player, BOSE music system and bespoke furnishings.  Kitchen area equipped with electric hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.  Bathroom with shower over bath, dual hand basins and WC.  Both the studio and the one bedroom apartments have a double bed and double sofa bed.  Upper level apartments have a private balcony and the ground floor apartments have a patio.
