Situated in the foothills of Blencathra Fell, close to Greystoke, Whitbarrow Village provides a friendly atmosphere combined with quality accommodation. The resort was originally converted from an 18th century Cumbrian Farm, the village has everything to entertain the whole family throughout your stay. The outstanding and newly renovated leisure centre features a friendly bar and a la carte restaurant plus downstairs you will find a heated indoor swimming pool, children’s splash pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room, gym and table tennis. Within the village you will also find a crazy golf course, putting greens, giant outdoor draughts/chess board, children’s adventure play area mini football area and laundry room. Towards the end of 2008 there will also be an all weather tennis court and holistic therapy treatment centre. This popular holiday village is only a minute’s drive from Ullswater, one of the Lake Districts most romantic lakes. The reception provides DVD rental, tourist information service and an internet station. The historic town of Penrith is 10 minutes away and Lake Windermere is less than half an hour’s drive. The accommodation is a 3 bedroom modern cottage, being ‘upside down’ style cottage and is centrally heated and comprises: Lounge with colour TV, video, DVD player, hi-fi and telephone . Kitchen fully equipped with oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Master double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with WC. Twin bedroom and bunk bedroom.
