Nestling at the foot of the Pennine scar, Melmerby is typical of a number of picturesque fell side villages which lie along the Eastern edge of the Eden Valley. The village consists of red sandstone buildings and cottages which overlook an 11 acre village green with a steam running through. The village boasts two gems - The shepherds Inn which serves an extensive pub menu and real ales and the village bakery, since 1976 they have been making outstanding bread and cakes the bakery restaurant has a reputation for its good home cooking. Ullswater and Hadrians Wall are a 30 minute drive and the nearby village of Langwathby with has an open air swimming pool is ten minutes away. This charming cottage is ideal for those who are looking for a traditional quiet peaceful village setting.The cottage is heated by night storage heaters and comprises: Lounge with log burner, TV, Video, DVD player, snug seating area with a vast selection of books, Kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, Sun/breakfast room overlooking the rear garden, ground floor bathroom with shower over bath WC, bidet and wash hand basin.
