This delightful Grade II listed early Georgian cottage is just 15 minutes walking distance from the centre of the historical city of Carlisle. The cottage built in 1702 is a short walk from the open countryside of the beautiful Eden Valley. Carlisle is on a major railway line with good connections, so getting here could not be easier and touring the area by bus or bike will take you to many interesting places with the Coast, Scottish Borders and Lake District all close by, making this an ideal base for those who do not wish to bring their car.Kells Cottage is situated on the site of the largest Roman fort constructed on Hadrian's Wall. The cottage is within easy reach of a pub and newsagent. Local restaurants and shops are close by and a short walk across the bridge and through Rickerby Park, along the river, will bring you to the Castle, Cathedral, bars, restaurants, shops, cinema, leisure centre and theatre.
The cottage is part centrally heated and comprises: Lounge with wood floors, period fireplace with electric coal effect fire, colour TV and DVD player. Dining kitchen with vintage gas fired Aga style cooker with oven and hob providing hot water and partial central heating, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and dining furniture. First Floor: Double bedroom with stunning King size Georgian four poster bed, marble washstand and fireplace with electric coal effect fire. Double bedroom with ¾ size antique iron bedstead. Bathroom with hand basin and WC.
Outside there is a sheltered walled garden with BBQ and garden furniture. All gas, electric and bed linen included. Private parking for 1 very small car and on street parking on opposite side of the road. Please note this property is not suitable for babies and children.
