A group of 5 charming well-equipped sandstone cottages, each decorated and furnished with care. The cottages are situated on the edge of an attractive Cumbrian village, with a Pub serving excellent food, near the River Eden and surrounded by rolling farmland. The village of Great Salkeld, centred around the Norman Church, offers tranquillity. From here there is easy access to the lakes and mountains of the Lake District, the Scottish Borders, also the many interesting villages of the Eden Valley and Northern Pennines. The cottages are set amongst open plan gardens which lead to the paddock, a popular place for picnics, play and barbecues. There is a shared laundry and lock up facility for those who wish to bring their bikes for exploring the many country lanes of the Eden Valley for which it is famousA spacious detached house nestled into a grassy bank with a quiet outdoor sitting area shaded by wild cherry tree. There are four bedrooms to sleep 6 people or a family of 8. The large open living area features a wood burning stove, colour TV, CD and DVD player. The kitchen area is equipped with a dishwasher, electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave. There are two single bedrooms downstairs (these can be converted to bunks to accommodate the 7th / 8th person). Family bathroom with bath, hand basin and WC. Shower room. First floor: Double and twin bedroom. Cloakroom with hand basin and WC.
All properties have gas central heating, electric, bed linen and towels included. There is a pine dinning table and chairs in each cottage. Cot and high chair available. There is ample private parking available in the car park for Wetheral Cottages. Shared use of the laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a clothes line in the paddock. Also a small lock up, ideal for storing bikes. Each cottage has its own garden furniture and shared use of the paddock.
