Lake District Cottages make a great base for a family holiday allowing you to relax in self catering accommodation as if it were your own home. This is a much more family friendly holiday accommodation solution leaving you unbound by hotel schedules and allowing you to be free to explore the Lake District as you please.
The Lake District has some of the best scenery in the country to admire, including Scafell which is England’s highest mountain and many postcard views of idyllic peaks and valleys and of course many beautiful lakes.
The Lake District has much more to offer than rambling and country walks, while this is a big part of Lake District life if you want it to be, there is so much more to do. There are several lakes such as Windermere and Ullswater and Derwentwater that offer a wealth of activities from many water sports to relaxing steam boat cruises while you absorb the scenery. If you want something even more peaceful why not rent a small boat and explore the lake by yourselves, you could even find a remote spot on the shore to have picnic.
Other things to do in the Lake District include playing golf and there is even a “cars of the stars” museum where you can see many of the cars made famous in movies and television. You could also try visiting Hadrian’s Wall, or visiting the birthplace, home and burial spot of William Wordsworth, or even visit the home of Beatrix Potter who wrote the Peter Rabbit books while living in the Lake District. This is just a tiny portion of the things you can do on your Lake District holidays.
