Accommodating ten people in six bedrooms this property offers plenty of space to relax and socialise, and is an ideal base for exploring the Lake District, on foot, by car or on two wheels. As you enter the Lake District the village of Staveley has become increasingly popular in recent years with its very own brewery, great local pubs, artisan bakery, and village shop. Also home to the UK's largest cycle store, Staveley is popular with cyclists of all grades and the neighbouring Kentmere Valley offers fantastic walking ranging from gentle rambles to strenuous fell top hikes. Spread over two floors Reston Mill offers good quality accommodation set within lovely gardens and is complimented with a family size hot tub, a games room and plenty of parking. Please note that Reston Mill is set back from the turn off from the A591 so you can hear cars passing when sat in the garden. ==Accommodation In Detail Conveniently located on the edge of Staveley village, the drive way winds down to the large parking area. On entering the property, the porch offers plenty of space for boots and coats before it opens on to the large kitchen diner. The cottage kitchen offers plenty of storage, a large range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer and the large dining table is the focal point of the room; without doubt this room will become the heart of the home for the duration of your stay! The conservatory is bright and airy and is a lovely place to relax in front of the log burning stove and also offers a breakfast table - where better to enjoy coffee and toast and the morning papers! The large lounge is a great social space with its huge corner sofa, feature fire place with real flame gas fire and large screen TV. On the ground floor there is a pretty single bedroom with views over the garden and a shower room with WC. The remainder of the bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the first floor which is accessed by an open staircase. On this floor are one super king size bedroom, one king size bedroom, one double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom – all are furnished to a high standard and all offer views to the garden. The family bathroom has a Victorian style roll bath with shower over, basin and WC and the shower room has a spacious walk-in shower, basin and WC. From the first floor there is a side door to the property leading directly to the garden (the house is built into the side of a hill) which is ideal when returning from a muddy walk or bike ride and you just want to head quickly inside for a shower and to get changed. On the covered veranda the cottage has a family size hot tub for eight which everyone is sure to enjoy! Within the out buildings there is a games room with pool table and TV. The garden wraps all the way round the house and offers a choice of places to sit and relax, two patio areas including one with a dining table for ten, a covered dining area and plenty of space for the kids to play. The upper area of the garden is fenced off and is great if you need an area where you can keep the children or dogs in sight. Location A holiday cottage in Staveley places you at the heart of a real Lakeland community, rather than primarily a tourist destination. The pretty village lies at the gateway to the Kentmere Valley, in a convenient location between Kendal and Windermere. Staveley is alive with artisan crafts, live music, and art galleries, and it's also an absolute treat for foodies. In the Staveley Mill Yard, you'll find the famous More? Artisan Bakery, the popular walkers' cafe 'Wilf's', the award-winning Hawkshead Brewery and Beer Hall (selling 'beer tapas' bar food and offering Brewery Tours.) Friendly Food & Drink (who make all natural preserves, jams and relishes), and Mr Duffins Coffee house. Just down the road from Reston Mill is Café Eclec serving breakfast, home cooked lunches, tea/coffees and cakes. Also within the village is the Eagle & Child Inn – a popular place for a hearty meal, with a pretty riverside beer garden. All of these destinations are accessible by foot and only a 10 minute walk from the house. You'll have to try them all! Heading out of the village, and just a 15 minute walk, is a micro brewery and traditional Lakeland pub, the Watermill Inn at Ings, offering up to 16 locally brewed ales to accompany food served in their restaurant. To stock up your kitchen and explore further afield, you only need drive a few miles on the A591 to Windermere village. There, you'll find a high class Booths supermarket and many other useful shops. From Windermere village, the A591 provides your main route into the heart of the Lakes, making Staveley a very convenient Lake District holiday base. For those not wishing to use a car, Reston Mill is ideally placed with the main bus stop 100 mtrs down the road with frequent bus services to Kendal, Windermere, Keswick and beyond, running every hour. A 10 minute walk also takes you to Staveley railway station where frequent trains run between Windermere and Kendal. Outside of public services there are many taxi services running from either Windermere or Kendal. For the more energetic of you at the top of the drive to Reston Mill you can gain access to the main cycle route to Windermere. Bike hire is also available within the village with an extensive range of road and mountain bikes.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
