Cressbrook is a quiet, picturesque village nestling on the hillside on the River Wye overlooking Monsal Dale and only 4 miles north of Bakewell. The village grew up around the cotton mill and is near to Water cum Jolly, a beautiful river gorge with limestone cliffs. The village is conveniently located to enjoy the Peak District and its many attractions including castles, caverns, historic houses and outdoor activities. The market towns of Buxton and Bakewell are close by for shops, pubs and restaurants.
This grade II 18th century cottage is close to the Monsal Trail and is ideal for walkers and cyclists, climbers will enjoy Ravens Tor and Water cum Jolly close by. The local pub ‘The Cressbrook’ is just across the road where a warm welcome awaits. The cottage has open views from all rooms over the surrounding countryside and is on a Site of Special Scientific Interest with an abundance of wildlife, including as the name suggests the local badgers which from time to time can be spotted in the cottage garden.
