The bath was an extra added delight and helped relax those aching muscle after all the walks we enjoyed. Lovely & Clean and very warm. Wainwrights pub was great for some home cooked food ” Be warned the portions are huge “ but the taste mmm! Thank you for all the extra little touches – Lima & Mike

I'd just like to say a massive Thank you for the 2 night break I won (in February!) that I've just enjoyed in Bank View cottage. I went on my own, which was a bit weird, I felt alone but not lonely, if you get what I mean?! The cottage was an absolute delight, perfect for one (tho to share it would have been lovely too!), I made the most of the luxurious bath on both nights! It was a really relaxing break, enjoying the peace & quiet (I'm a self employed, single mum to 4 children!). I enjoyed a meal in Wainright's Inn on arrival, my only complaint was that I was so stuffed after just the main course I couldn't manage a pudding - & that is some achievement as I have a very healthy appetite! I walked to Grasmere on Sunday (it rained on & off all day), but the views were glorious, a lovely village that I've never visited before. After packing & vacating the cottage yesterday (Monday), I drove around the Langdale Valley, paddled in a beck, walked to Blea Tarn then climbed up Side Pike (I think it was), my legs & hips are hurting today! Typical my leaving day had the best weather!! It was a real accomplishment for me doing all that on my own, particularly climbing the mountain, as I have a funny leg which restricts my movements somewhat & my first mountain climb alone was a real personal achievement.
This really is a great place for a romantic break...we will be back.
