“Wonderful family weekend” We recently spent a long weekend at Beckwood to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. The accommodation is light, spacious and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed quad biking, tree climbing and Archery at Rookin House Activity Centre , which is a ten minute walk from Beckwood. Paul the owner is very helpful and can provide lots of information on local walks and hikes. We loved our meals at The Horse and Farrier at Threlkeld ( ten minutes by car) and Lucy's On A Plate in Ambleside. We also enjoyed the wood burning stove in the evenings. The weather was good and we woke up to lovely views towards Blencathra. Fresh eggs for breakfast was a treat! This accommodation is in a lovely part of The Lakes and is perfect for a family holiday. Highly recommended. trumpet167 : March 2017
“Wonderful half term break” We have just returned home after the most wonderful weeks stay at Beckwood with my whole family. It is a beautiful house set in an even more beautiful location, we will all miss waking up to the incredible views, and ever changing colours of the countryside. We had a fantastic time exploring the Lake district, and found the location ideal for amusing us all from my shopaholic sister, hyper nieces and the rest of us keen to walk. The house is so spacious we could all find our own space although we all tended to settle in by the log burning stove in the evenings very cosy. Paul, Fiona and Micheal were very welcoming and helpful and the freshly laid eggs on arrival were a wonderful treat. We will definitely be booking again! Felicity: February 2017
"Lovely cottage - great location" We booked this lovely cottage for a family trip away. The accommodation was well eqipped, spacious and perfect for an early toddler. The cottage is in a gorgeous location, between Keswick and Penrith - a short drive from some fabulous walks - and a 5 min walk from a fun activity centre. There is also a brilliant farm shop nearby, jammed packed with great food. Paul was a great host. I would definitely recommend. PollyPocket04: October 2016
"Will definitely be back - we had a lovely time" We stayed in Beckwood for October half term and had an amazing time. The owners live next door and were very friendly and happy to give advice about places to visit, etc - we even had fresh eggs on arrival. The house was large, warm and comfy. It was lovely to be able to bring our dogs and 5 children and have lots of space to relax. The house has a great garden and amazing views. The area is superb - in between Penrith and Keswick and very close to Ullswater and spectacular walks and mountains. We will definitely be back. Claire B: October 2016
"Fabulous!" We stayed for the second year running with three of our grown up children and two dogs. We knew the house was warm and welcoming and were not disappointed this time round. The new owner, Paul, was very welcoming and supplied us with fresh eggs for breakfast. A really comfortable house with loads of room for us all to spread out and relax. Plenty of hot water, three toilets and two showers proved ample for 8 of us last year and 5 of us on this trip. We had a lovely meal out at the Troutbeck Inn which welcomes dogs. maffSalisbury: September 2016
"What a place" After having spent 8 or so years having our holiday at Greenbank Farm or Glen Cottage, with Helen Charlton as the owner, we hoped that the new owners Pual and Fiona Chapman would keep up the tradition. This indeed turned out to be true. We stayed for 14 nights at Beckwood with all of our 4 children (37 to 39 years old) at various times and they all found it really great. It is dog friendly, quiet, not far from the centre of the northern fells, with great restaurants nearby, not least the Troutbeck Inn and the Raj Indian restaurant in Penrith. It is comfortable, well looked after and the new owners live on site, which was a bonus. We have a great holiday at a great place. Looking forward to going again next year. Susie2410: June 2016
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!! Thank you so much for supplying such a beautiful place to stay. 8 of us came to stay for a long weekend for my fathers "big" birthday, we arrived early evening were taken aback as soon as we walked in the door, let alone when we saw the view in the morning. Such a warm, welcoming house with plenty of room for us all to spend our time, the pictures on the website are great but by no means do it its full justice. The kitchen and bathroom are amazing. All fixtures and fittings supplied to such a high standard. Really cannot rate this house and experience highly enough, would well recommend to anyone
