Within a stone’s throw of the bustling village centre there are shops, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep so no need to use the car unless you plan to explore the other popular villages of Windermere, Grasmere or Keswick.

Situated in the centre of Ambleside, Coachman's Cottage has all the facilities of this bustling village on its doorstep including shops, bars and restaurants. A few minutes walk brings you to the lake where a cruise around Windermere can be enjoyed, hope off at one of the villages around the lake for a days sightseeing.

Coachman's Cottage is a first floor apartment providing cosy and modern accommodation. Located in a courtyard behind the owners guest house and cafe, It is particularly appealing to young couples or small families looking for a break at any time of the year.

The electric heated accommodation comprises:

  • Entrance hall with washing machine, tumble dryer, heated drying cupboard and space for boots and coats.

  • First floor: Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with Juliette balcony, TV and DVD player.

  • Kitchen with electric double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge.

  • Double bedroom with King size bed.

  • Single children's bedroom.

  • Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

  • All electric, bed linen and towels provided.

  • Wi-Fi available at near by Ambleside House for guests' use.

  • Private parking for one car.

PLEASE NOTE There is a charge of £10 to hire a cot per week and £5 to hire a highchair per week. Spa Treatments in the comfort of your holiday cottage can be added to your holiday reservation. To ensure these are available for your holiday, these must be booked and paid in advance.

  • Amazing ambleside decribes this holiday beautifully! The apartment was superb; very clean and in a perfect location in the town. The property is approx three years old and is nicely furnished and well equipped. There is car parking, which once navigated proved to be a god send - especially when packing and unpacking.The public transport is excellent and the open top buses stop at the end of the road which can take you to Grasmere amongst other places.Nearby attractions which are a must are Hill Top (home of Beatrix Potter) and Dove Cottage (home of William Wordsworth) plus trips on Windermere, Coniston and Ullswater. The owners of The Retreat were very helpful and accomodating offering a free cooked breakfast on the day of departure. Excellent.
