The farm is located approximately 3 miles from Kirkby Stephen on the northern edge of the Dales, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Smardale Hall is adjacent to an English nature reserve with an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels and deer. The property has an adjoining paddock with trampoline and is suitable for those who would like to bring along a pony. Alongside the paddock is Scandale Beck which includes crayfish and frequent visits by herons. Visitors will enjoy the many walking and cycling opportunities over the country lanes and note that this is on the coast to coast walk and has a view to the Settle to Carlisle line with regular steam trains from the grounds.
