Located in the peaceful Eden Valley, The Barn is in a courtyard behind the owners Grade II listed former farmhouse. With an abundance of beams, the accommodation is all on ground floor level, and is furnished and equipped to a high standard ensuring a comfy and relaxing break at any time of year.
Colby is one of the Eden Valleys prettiest villages with a mixture of sandstone cottages and newly built houses. Meandering country lanes lead to Appleby 1.5 miles away with a wealth of amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. The Eden Valley is perfect for those who enjoy walking or biking on the quiet country roads. Winding its way through the valley, the River Eden has a number of villages dotted along its banks where you will be rewarded with a pint of local ale in one of the many friendly pubs after a day exploring the lush green valley. Colby is perfectly placed to enjoy days out in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales or the northern Pennines.
The Barn is peacefully located in the courtyard to the rear of the owners Grade II listed former farmhouse dating back to 1683, with its own patio and garden overlooking the pond with a woodland aspect. The ground floor barn conversion has been newly renovated to exacting standards by local craftsman retaining the character of the property and blending a contemporary feel with rustic appeal. There is an abundance of timbers used with heavily beamed ceilings to provide spacious yet cosy accommodation of the highest standards which is sure to be appreciated by those lucky enough to stay here. It has been furnished and equipped to the highest standard with quality co-ordinated linens and fabrics to provide a superb relaxing "hide away" whether it be for a last minute short break or preferably a longer stay to appreciate all the cottage offers.
The cottage has biometer underfloor heating throughout and comprises:
- Open plan beamed lounge/kitchen with comfy sofa, TV and French doors leading to the patio area.
- Hand built kitchen with electric Aga, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave and breakfast bar providing seating for two.
- Spacious double bedroom with king size bed and delightful outlook to the woodlands overlooking the pond.
- Shower room with large monsoon shower, hand basin and WC.
- All electric, bed linen and towels provided.

PLEASE NOTE A cot and highchair are available to hire at a cost of £10 and £5 per week respectively. One well behaved dog is welcome at a cost of £20 per week.
