The Lake District offers something for all to enjoy, from the most energetic or those who prefer to take life at a slower pace, choose between mountain biking or climbing, watersports on Windermere, Ullswater or Derwentwater, Go Ape tree top adventures at Whinlatter or relax aboard one of the lake cruises, take an open top bus tour or unwind in a beer garden whilst enjoying a sumptious meal using the best local produce or one of our local ales.

Children will enjoy exploring the Lake District, fishing in the lakes, splashing in the sea on our beautiful coastline or walking in the steps of the Romans along Hadrian's Wall or standing guard over the city of Carlisle at the castle. There are animal parks and zoos, museums, cinemas, theatres, aquariums, steam railways and much, much more, we only hope the big kids can keep up, but if you can't the family friendly bars, restaurants and tea rooms will give you a welcome break to recharge your batteries.
