We had a five night stay here and could not fault the place.
Having stayed at other rentals I can say that the pictures you see are a true reflection of what it is actually like. Everything was immaculate. All the furnishings are lovely, very tasteful and fully co-ordinated. It is completely bijou but has everything you could need to make a stay comfortable. Whole flat a massive step up from a boring box or chinzy, second-hand 'character' style of many properties. I could stay here again and again and will. Another plus is that you can save a fortune in parking fees by staying here. As they say in my neighbourhood, it is a belta!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Somervell and look forward to returning again, (hopefully next year). We found Somervell to be a tastefully furnished character conversion offering spacious accommodation with wonderful views of Derwentwater. We liked the peaceful location, and being at the foot of Skiddaw we were able to take some wonderful walks right from the doorstep. The close proximity to Keswick meant we were able to frequently visit the attractions the town had to offer which was perfect for us being a family with young children to entertain.
The house is a true home from home, the well equipped kitchen with all modern appliances and a huge range of cooking utensils was enough to cater for me, being an adventurous cook. The wide variety of Books and Films available to us complimented the thoughtful touches offered in this comfortable house, the reclining sofas in the lounge were a big hit with the whole family after our many long walks. There was lots of tourist information available to us. Overall, a wonderful week was had by all and we have already recommended the house to others upon our return.

Having two lively young boys, myself and my wife found our stay at Heather cottage, Ambleside a lovely experience. The weather was reasonably kind for us with only one day being rained off. Even so the facilities at the cottage were excellent, a real home from home. The boys loved the cottage and the location was excellent for trips out or long walks. Would definitely visit again.
THE RETREAT, Ambleside
Amazing ambleside decribes this holiday beautifully! The apartment was superb; very clean and in a perfect location in the town.
The property is approx three years old and is nicely furnished and well equipped. There is car parking, which once navigated proved to be a god send - especially when packing and unpacking.
The public transport is excellent and the open top buses stop at the end of the road which can take you to Grasmere amongst other places.
Nearby attractions which are a must are Hill Top (home of Beatrix Potter) and Dove Cottage (home of William Wordsworth) plus trips on Windermere, Coniston and Ullswater.
The owners of The Retreat were very helpful and accomodating offering a free cooked breakfast on the day of departure. Excellent.

WHITBARROW HOLIDAY VILLAGE (5), Nr Ullswater
Stayed here for week in July, house was tastefully and very comfortably furnished. 2 good sized bedrooms but the third bunk room is very tight - only suitable for younger children I'd say. Used the pool most days and the bar for a coffee but didn't eat in the restaurant. The menu did look nice though and we had takeaway pizzas one night which were very tasty and ready quickly. Well situated for exploring the Lakes, great farm shop close by and we would definitely recommend this house to others

Having stayed in holiday apartments and cottages in Keswick over the last fifteen years we found this apartment to be one of the best, It was well fitted out with parking for one car (Which is quite rare in Keswick )quiet yet with in easy walking distance of both the town centre and the lake.

BANK VIEW COTTAGE, Langdale
Bank View Cottage was in a lovely spot within the village of Chapel Stile about 4 miles from Ambleside. The accomodation is Clean,Compact and cosy & has everything you need for a weeks holiday. There is a local shop and a pub within a few minutes walk and three other pubs within a couple of miles. Had great time.
POTTERY COTTAGE, Skelton, Nr Ullswater
Pottery cottage was lovely and comfortable, with plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The cottage was well equipped and we were made to feel very welcome. There is a pub with good food about 10 steps away and the cottage is only a short drive from the heart of lakeland walking.
The cottage is in beautiful surroundings and there is a garden patio with furniture so we could sit in the sunshine.
I would recommend the cottage as it was lovely.
SKIDDAW VIEW, Keswick
This is a superb property, ideally situated about one minute's walk from Keswick's Main Street. The parking space provided is essential due to the very busy surrrounding area. The apartment is spotlessly clean and finished to a high standard. There is also a lift to both floors of this duplex style apartment which was helpful with our young baby's buggy. Key collection is also a bonus as the office is a short walk from the apartment.

Very nice apartment indeed.great location slap bang in the middle of ambleside.very modern,clean,well-appointed with everything you could possibly need.Tight access to the car park is a very minor issue but overall I'd completely recomment The Retreat.

The cottage was superbly equipped in all areas. The kitchen cupboards were well stocked with all manner of cooking ingredients and equpment. The garage contained garden furniture. The living room was extremely comfortable, this is important especially if the weather is not very good. The only negative comment my teenage son had to make is about the lack if internet access.

To apartment was excellent, we had a great week. Clean, comfortable, liked to window seat. Our one and only fault was the en-suite shower that we didn't use as poor. The main bathroom shower was lovely a powerful. Having a parking space was good of course.

This was our fourth visit to the flat and we love it! The flat itself has all we want but the outstanding feature is the view.

From the moment we arrived this beautiful place captured our hearts, stunning views and a magical feel to this wonderful and very romantic boathouse, the chic interior and old wood fire just added to the vibe...the japanese bath tub was fabulous for a long hot soak after walking around the waterfalls all day. We were truly sad to leave and will definitely be returning...To My Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

As a group of friends coming to the Keswick convention Catbells was a perfect base. We were amazed at the quality of all the fittings and in particular the kitchen. Little details meant a lot like the towel for muddy dogs! Close to a well stocked little spar shop and all amenities it was ideal. We would have booked for next year at the end of our stay if it had been available

Had a really lovely holiday at your cottage. Very comfy beds and a great shower. We had dinner across the road atthe Royal Oak several times and were never disapointed, the food was delicious. We visited Grange, very pictureesque town and Cartmel lovely village, we were very lucky with the weather. We also visited Bowness and had a trip up to Coniston on the steamer yacht (Gondola) it was a very enjoyable experience. Much quiter than Windermere. We would love to come back again.

Very often we are quick to complain if something wasn't right, and not so quick to commend. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the wat we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket and note on the blackboard to everything in the house being top quality and in excellent condition. I particularly loved the fact that you had thought of everything we would need for our visit from dishwasher tablets to salt and pepper - small details make all the difference!
You made our visit easy, comfortable, and wanting us to recommend it to everyone we know!

A very enjoyable short break in your warm and cosy cottage. A home from home and an ideal base to explore the Lake District from. The weather was very kind to us which can either make or break a holiday in this part of the country. We visited the Eskdale Steam Railway and the Ullswater Steamer using a combination ticket which worked very well and saved some money.The views are spectacular everywhere you go and the pubs are full of character, real fires and real ales. Overall a very relaxing and interesting break. We hope to visit again and would recommend your cottage.

This is the first time we have spent Christmas away from home and had a wonderful chiller week. Facilities at the cottage are great a real home from home. Shower is great and even -12 outside - very warm and cosy inside. Had a trip into Kendal bus stop at the bottom of the hill. Town has all the high street stores and supernmarkets. We simply could not have asked for a better home and location whilst we all took the time to explore the Lake district and the Yorkshire Dales. Local free - range eggs were fantastic and of course we had to indulge in the coffee treats and beautifil gardens at the Mill Yard Cafe. Perfectly placed between the Lakes and the Pennines, we couldnt have asked for a better location. We have just returned from Ullswater, Barton Lodge, Pooley Bridge and want to say thank you for a lovely chalet. Barton Lodge was very clean, spacious yet cosy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The booking of accommodation was straight forward. We were expecting a quieter location - not in the middle of a camp site though! - but it was quiet and felt secluded when in the chalet. The area is beautiful. I would recommend your company and accommodation.

My family and I, 7 adults and 4 children stayed at Knott's View in the summer and we were bowled over by how well-equipped, modern, quiet and secluded, yet accessible to the Lake District, it was. The property was large enough for everyone, with 2 dining areas and a large lounge, children's room, which was ideal and where they played for hours, as well as the well-equipped children's furniture in the garden. It even had a games room in the basement which the boys loved. The downstairs bedroom had an unexpected visitor at the bedroom window every morning, the horse from next door.
The owners, on the farm next door, were very friendly and helpful and the lovely welcome basket on arrival was very generous and welcomed. It was handy having a utility room and entrance where we could come in with wet boots.
I would recommend this property to any large party, it has a wow factor.

Boy did it rain. Thunder and lightning at times! Fortunately for us only during the night and the Thursday morning. The rest of the time it was scorching, shorts and t-shirt weather-lovely. The cottage was a very well equipped well located base from which to explore.We particularly enjoyed Castlerigg and Keswick and sitting on the esplanade at Grange soaking up the sun.Peaceful and quiet.The cottage was very cosy to wind down in afterwards.We would definately want to return... preferably during the next heat wave.Many Thanks
