Within minutes you can go fishing, cycling, golfing, sailing, walking, and so much more.

Or simply pull up a chair on the jetty, relax and look out for the swans, cormorants or even otters.

This area of coastline, known as the Colvend and Southwick shore has many rugged cliffs and secret bays to tempt the visitor, and there are a number of footpaths to be explored. Cyclists have easy access to most of the 7stanes mountain bike complex, and the renowned Galloway Dark Sky Forest Park is a short drive away. The attractive beaches of Rockcliffe and Sandyhills provide an enjoyable family day out, plus the beaches of Mossyard and Sandgreen, which are popular with locals, are within a half hour drive away, and Kippford is a popular yachting and sailing centre.
