Shuk Yee “We have a lovely stay at Yonder End.”
The house is big and comfortable. We could enjoy beautiful views from the house. The welcome drink and snacks provided are a surprise. Although the house has four bedrooms for eight people, the tables in the kitchen and dining room are set for six people only and we need to move the chairs around as we have seven in our group. It would be nice if more of the pepper and salt, tea and coffee, and sugar can be provided for our whole stay. Besides, It will be nice if washing powder/detergent for ...

Jessamae “Good for group stays.”
- Jessamae, August 2023Michael “Property position was good.”
Lovely views. Hedges could do with being trimmed to further enhance view. Spacious house, very clean, kitchen equipment perhaps needs replacing as not in brilliant condition. Could do with more crockery and utensils. Beds comfortable. Settees not so comfortable. Overall an excellent holiday home and suited our requirements.
- Michael, August 2023Carole “We found the cottage to be homely, clean, warm and comfortable, but perhaps a little dated.”
It was certainly spacious and had all the facilities that we needed. We particularly loved the bay windows looking onto the garden, which was a haven for wildlife and birdlife. Its in a very quiet location at the Blencathra Centre and has wonderful views. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
- Carole, July 2023Elizabeth “The property was well-equipped and very spacious - ideal for our party of 7 adults.”
It had been cleaned to a very high standard. Thank you. We all loved the beautiful garden and fantastic views. Would recommend this property without hesitation.
- Elizabeth, May 2023Ruth “Lovely house and great location.”
- Ruth, February 2023Trevor “Had a brilliant week at yonder end,the house is beautiful.”
The views are amazing lovely and quiet, didn't get disturbed by anyone. It's a haven for wildlife and has plenty of good walks close by. I'd say you have everything you need for a great holiday. We will definitely be coming back.
- Trevor, November 2022Lee “Loved it, should have stayed longer.”
As good a location for the price as you could ask for and very clean with plenty of space. As feedback, maybe a few board games for all the family.
- Lee, July 2022Anthony “The property was fantastic, the view spectacular.”
The house was extremely spacious - really good experience from start to finish. If we had to give some feedback the kitchen was lacking a few basics such as kitchen roll, tin foil and some oil and salt/pepper. We would definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family. Thank you
- Anthony, June 2022Nida “Lovely, spacious cottage with beautiful views from garden.”
Nearby free EV charging facilities. Great location for anyone looking to walk Blencathra. Only thing that could be improved would be providing firewood for fireplace or making it clear where it's available from.
- Nida, June 2022Samantha “We loved our time here at Yonder End.”
The Christmas tree set up was a lovely surprise and really made us feel at home for the festive period. The photos do not do this place justice, so large and comfortable - a great place for our party of 7 and a perfect base for our visit to the lakes. The views from the house were stunning, and being right near some hiking and walking trails were just perfect. Cannot wait to come back!
- Samantha, December 2021Geoff “Like a previous reviewer I wasn’t convinced of the property’s worth from the presentation and wording of the advertisement but I took a chance on booking and was extremely pleased that I did.”
It was very much undersold. The property is very large, clean, well equipped and in beautiful surroundings with a view that you’d never tire off - the frequent red squirrel visitor was a real bonus. All party members would love to return.
- Geoff, September 2021Carol “Lovely peaceful place, big house with excellent facilities, warm and cozy with properly supplied kitchen.”
Nice garden and wonderful views. Very easy access to long fell walks. This was a last minute due to covid rule change - we took a chance and won !
- Carol, April 2021Mark “Yonder End is a great cottage in a fabulous location.”
It's not luxury - but it is spacious, it was clean, comfortable, and warmed fabulously by the open coal fire. And in absolutely the right place to go for a walk up Blencathra!
