Ostlers Barn is a lovely retreat for two couples or a family of four looking to add a dash of luxury to their Lake District holiday.
It is peacefully tucked away in the unspoilt Northern Fells area of the UNESCO-listed Lake District National Park, and in one of the region's most sought-after villages.
This magnificent two-bedroom barn conversion is located on the outskirts of Hesket Newmarket, making it ideal for exploring this quiet and attractive part of the Lake District away from the crowds.
Be welcomed into the spacious, high-spec contemporary kitchen, which has been fully refurbished and features the latest appliances such as underfloor heating, a three-oven electric Aga, ceramic induction hob, multi-function oven & microwave, American-style fridge freezer, digital radio/Bluetooth speaker, and a Smart TV, all designed around a natural oak and granite peninsula; you will feel right at home with everything you need at your fingertips if you decide to dine in.
The spacious living/dining area is located just off the kitchen and features an oak dining table large enough to accommodate you and your guests, as well as attractive seating and entertainment space.
Many of the barn's original characteristics, such as the wooden lintels and exposed stones, have been preserved, and they blend beautifully with the modern furnishings.
The traditional woodburning stove and the Smart TV, which includes the newest programmes such as Netflix, Prime, and DVD player, as well as access to an Xbox, are flanked by two cushioned sofas and a large footstool.
If the warmth of the woodburner proves too alluring, the bookcase is packed with a variety of local guidebooks and maps for arranging your excursions, as well as a variety of coffee table books and novels.
Climb the stairs to find two welcoming, well-appointed, and spacious king-size bedrooms; the master bedroom, which can be made into a twin on request, has a king-size bed and an additional double sofa bed, as well as a lovely en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and heated tiled floor.
With its vaulted ceiling, Velux windows, exposed roof trusses, and sumptuous thick pile carpet, the bedroom is the best soothing area to decompress.
A separate, contemporary family bathroom with underfloor heating and a powerful shower over a good-sized bath serves the second king-size room with its gorgeous rustic timber framed bed.
The cottage lies on the outskirts of the village, which is hidden within the lush Northern Fells, with access to some excellent hikes, proper pubs, and secluded lakes and tarns.
The Old Crown, a Cooperatively run village pub, sells its own selection of beers produced on site as well as great home cooked bar meals; make a reservation in advance, as tables fill up rapidly.
There are plenty of fantastic locations to visit if you want to travel further afield to dine or drink.
Bassenthwaite, a short drive away, has wonderful lake and riverside strolling, as well as a magnificent spa, the Lake District Wildlife Park, and Cumbria's only distillery, all of which are well worth a visit.
The cottage is also close to the rest of the Lake District and all of the activities that an outdoor enthusiast could enjoy.
The next town, Keswick, provides a variety of amenities and is located near Derwentwater, where you may swim, canoe, paddle board, or sail, as well as the famous Wainwright fell, Cat Bells.
You might also want to pay a visit to the Keswick Adventure Centre, the Theatre by the Lake, or one of the town's many pubs, shops, and restaurants.
At Ostlers Barn, whisk your loved ones away for an unforgettable experience.
