“Cottage Holiday was outstanding beautifully set in well maintained gardens just outstanding”
“Well maintained property in an absolutely stunning location.”
“Fabulous place to stay, owners garden beautiful & let’s you use it as you please, accommodation faultless, hope to return one day.”
“Relaxing , 5 star cottage.”
Surroundings beautiful. Views spectacular. Host welcoming. Cottage is stunning. Highly recommended
“Would absolutely recommend this holiday property.”
Fantastic location with amazing landscapes all around the cottage. Easy access to all the Lake District attractions and this beautiful cottage caters for all you might need for either a relaxing or energetic walking holiday. Very friendly owner who couldn't do enough to make out holiday a fantastic experience.
“This is a great cottage with fabulous views, very homely with everything you need, the only problem we had was with road noise, not used to it.”
We had really good weather for March and managed a walk everyday via the green lane at the end of the garden. Dodd wood has lovely walks and we walked up to Dodd Crag via Millbeck which was very steep in places but the views at the top are worth the effort. We walked into Keswick also along the lane, field and tracks it takes about 45 minutes (not 15 minutes as someone said previously) There are some lovely little walks from the centre (when you find them) and smashing parks. Latrigg is a good walk with lovely views but coming back into the village along the temporary railway line track is not for the fainthearted.
“Our first visit to Cragside cottage but it won't be our last.”
Jenny is a wonderful host and the welcome pack was much appreciated. The Cottage itself is absolutely stunning and has everything and more that you need for a relaxing stay. The views from the cottage are fantastic and the garden is beautiful. It's perfectly situated for countless Walks both high and low. Thank you again Jenny and we look forward to seeing you next year. Andrew and Toni.
“The cottage was pristine with the panoramic views of snow capped mountains to wake up to everyday.”
We loved the extensive garden with the added bonus of the green walk directly from it. Jenny was very welcoming a lovely host.
“I can honestly say that Cragside Cottage is the best holiday cottage I have ever stayed in.”
It is as close to perfect as I could ever hope to enjoy. Jenny (the owner) has thought of everything. We stayed just after Christmas & there was even a Christmas tree & decorations. If you are looking for five star accommodation then look no further. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, the kitchen & bathroom are modern & tasteful. The lounge Is airy with the most amazing views. The cottage is also very well positioned for loads of very good walks. We WILL be going back.
“5 Star is how I would best describe Cragside Cottage.”
The furnishings and decor are beautiful and lovely quality with everything that you could ask for. The large garden is kept immaculate and it was such a pleasure to sit and watch the birds on the many feeders dotted around the grounds. Jenny (the owner) is just next door and made us so welcome during our stay. We hope to return soon.
“Cragside is a great cottage just a mile outside Keswick.”
The lounge was a highlight for me with great views over the hills and also a place to sit and watch birds visit the garden. The cottage is freshly decorated and well equipped throughout, the electric boot warmer/ dryer was a thoughtful addition after a few rainy walks.
“Everything about Cragside Cottage was absolutely amazing.”
The owner went above and beyond the specifications in the description. They thought of everything required down to smaller items like corkscrew, potato peeler, salt and pepper. The list goes on. And to top it all everything was immaculate plus the extensive garden where a sight to behold.
“The accommodation was immaculate and provided every comfort that was required.”
The views were stunning and is ideally situated.
Cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. We received a warm welcome from Jenny the owner who left us biscuits and a bottle of Prosecco. The views were amazing and we left feeling relaxed and energized. We would highly recommend this little bit of paradise to anyone!
I booked this cottage as a surprise for my wife's 30th birthday. I wanted somewhere with great views of the Lake District and convenient access to the lakes main tourist locations. Being just outside Keswick (about 15 mins walk in) there are plenty of nearby facilities, pubs and restaurants, as well as being positioned just below Skiddaw, an excellent mountain climb (around 4 hours round trip). The cottage itself is surprisingly spacious with a very comfortable bedroom that faces out into the beautiful garden, with very modern en-suite and shower. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils and there's a great little utility room at the back which comes in handy for extra storage. Ken and Jenny are extremely helpful and accommodating owners, who gave us several great recommendations and even a lift into town on our final night! Would definitely return - highly recommended. P.S. Sorry it has taken so long to write a review!
As regular visitors to The Lake District we decided to make a change with a visit to Cragside Cottage for a week in March this year. We were not disappointed. The accommodation is superb and the location gives one of the finest views in the area down the borrow dale valley.
“Exceptional. Exceeded our expectations in every way.”
This is an exceptional property which exceeded our expectations in every way. Absolutely beautiful views matched with truly luxurious accomodation. The cottage was immaculately clean and very well equipped, with the standard of equipment being extremely high. This is one of the few occasions where the photos in the advert are a true representation of the actual property. This, and the owners house next door, are the only properties in the vicinity. There are therefore lovely views in all directions. The cottage has it's own private patio area and there are also many other secluded seating areas throughout the gardens available for use. It's about a mile and a half outside of Keswick centre so far enough away to be out of the crowds (and get the great views) but close enough to be able to get into Keswick very easily. Perfect really.
