The property

Dovestones can be found in the middle of Keswick, Cumbria, a thriving market town. Up to five guests can stay in comfort at this beautifully maintained Victorian terrace house with stunning views of Skiddaw Mountain, a private rear yard with furniture, lockable bike storage, and a dog shower. Relax on the plush sofa as the Smart TV plays and the woodburning stove crackles in the living/dining room, which was designed with a contemporary wooden wall with cut outs to let in natural light. After a day of exploring, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to cook up a hearty meal for the family to enjoy together at the dining table while you share travel tales. As the day draws to a close, head upstairs to two bedrooms both with a king-size bed and one bedroom with a single bed, each of which is outfitted with ample storage space, this floor also houses a well-appointed bathroom. Get some shut-eye before heading out for another exciting day in the Lake District National Park. The town of Keswick is a fantastic base for outdoor enthusiasts of all skill levels, as it offers an abundance of hiking and walking trails. There are a number great walks you can do from the door. You can also visit the Derwent Pencil Museum, the Keswick Museum, the Keswick Climbing Wall, and the Ashness Bridge. In the evening, enjoy a meal and a pint of Lakeland beer at one of the town's many restaurants and bars, such as Merienda or The Farmers Arms. Visit the nearby Wray Castle, the impressive Stock Ghyll Force, and the mysterious Rydal Cave, by travelling a bit further to the charming market town of Ambleside. A Roman Fort can also be found in Ambleside, providing an interesting window into the history of the area. Cockermouth, Windermere, and Bowness are a lovely drive away and have plenty of things to do for the whole family. You can't go wrong with 51 Wordsworth Street as your home base for exploring Keswick and the Lake District.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
