    “Lovely house, perfect for family.”

    Appreciated covers for furniture. Every utensil you would need in kitchen, which was appreciated. Excellent for shops, pubs etc. Walk to lake only 10 minutes. Only negative was would have liked a TV in the games room where the log burner was, as we used that quite a lot. But overall excellent.

White House is a fantastic Lake District cottage, perfect for families or groups of friends wishing to explore the delightful town of Keswick. The holiday cottage is centrally located, has private parking, a wood burning stove and being one of our dog friendly cottages in the Lake District means even the family dog will enjoy staying here. Keswick is one of the most popular towns to visit in the Lake District, hosting an array of shops, pavement cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants and walks galore. The shores of Derwentwater offer scenic lake cruises which sail the length of the lake, hop aboard and relax whilst you admire the magnificent views and scenery along the way or stop off at neighboring landings and explore the beautiful countryside on foot. Whatever you choose to do you are guaranteed to return home relaxed, refreshed and in love with the Lake District. White House is a traditional mid terrace house which has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished providing a spacious and well-equipped Lake District holiday home, ideal for large families or groups of friends wishing to experience the delights of the northern lakes and in particular Keswick. The amenities of the pretty market town are a short walk away along with visitor attractions for young and old alike with walks from the door taking you to vantage points where you can admire the breathtaking scenery you will long returning to this cottage year after year.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
