“On entering the apartment it was extremely cold and had a musty smell.”

It would have been a nice touch if the heaters had been left on low as we had been given a time to arrive at the apartment. The apartment is heated by storage heaters so took a long time to warm up. The pull cord in the bathroom for the light and fan was broken off. The bedding was extremely uncomfortable, the sheets and pillowcases were very rough, the duvet was thin and had no warmth, luckily I managed to find a throw to put over the top, I spent the second night on the settee in the lounge ...

It would have been a nice touch if the heaters had been left on low as we had been given a time to arrive at the apartment. The apartment is heated by storage heaters so took a long time to warm up. The pull cord in the bathroom for the light and fan was broken off. The bedding was extremely uncomfortable, the sheets and pillowcases were very rough, the duvet was thin and had no warmth, luckily I managed to find a throw to put over the top, I spent the second night on the settee in the lounge area with a throw but unfortunately my daughter had to spend the night in the bedroom. After reaching under the settee to find something I had dropped I was surprised to find thick dust under there. Although we were booked in for three nights we left early the next morning, we would have left the night before but my daughter who was driving and had a drink so we had to stay. I have booked with Sykes on previous occasions and have never had problems with any of my previous bookings. We were really looking forward to spending Christmas in the Lake District, my daughter hasn't been before so it was going to be an enjoyable time for us. I feel I have paid a lot of money for a place that didn't meet up to any of my expectations.,
