“This is a very comfortable cottage in an ideal spot to explore Bowness and the surrounding area.”
“Brantfell Lodge was exactly as the website had described.”
A very clean, comfortable and lovely place to stay - a real home from home. The location for the restaurants and shops at Bowness on Windermere and walking to the lake was around 5 minutes which made eating out in the evenings very easy. We would definitely stay here again. The landlady was very welcoming and provided a quick hello with a few details about the house and the area and left her contact details should we have any problems but thankfully we didn't and we had a thoroughly enjoyable week with fantastic weather.
“Fantastic as always”
Our fifth stay at Brantfell Lodge, and still as fantastic as ever. We would not consider stopping anywhere else in the Lakes as a family with one small dog. This property cannot be beat location central ,but quiet, parking for three cars at least. Private drive, great garden, dog loves it as much as us,he is well trained and loves sitting out with us.just such a well kept clean property, with some lovely little extra,s such as night lights in hallways which was really helpful for my mum if she needed the bathroom etc. Just wonderful place
Our third visit to this property and thoroughly enjoyed as usual. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location is excellent being only 5 minutes from the waters edge and Bowness centre. The road is dangerously busy but we got round it by one of our party crossing the road and indicating when it was safe to come out into the road. Looking forward to our fourth visit already. Thank you Cath.
“Wonderful Convenient Property”
Just Spent a wonderful week in this marvellous property in Bowness Excellent for extended family and a great base for the Lakes. Bowness is just a 5 minute walk away down the hill so you don't have to use the car too much. I can't recommend enough we'll be back
“Brilliant property, be aware that garden has unfenced drop to patio/road”
Brantfell Lodge is a wonderful holiday home in a fantastic location within easy walking distance to Bowness. The owner visits when you arrive and is very welcoming. The driveway, although tricky to exit, is quite manageable for turning the car around, and our car is a large estate. The only drawback which isn't mentioned on their website is that the garden is accessed via steps and has an unfenced drop of approx 4 ft onto the patio area, also there are gaps in the conifers which lead to another drop next to the road. This wouldn't cause any problems for most people however could be dangerous for anyone with a toddler or dog. We kept our dog on the lead when in the garden due to this problem. Apart from that, this is actually a really dog friendly home, All in all, a very lovely property.
“Fantastic Week In The Lakes”
One thing that always surprises me is how some people use Trip Advisor. A previous review on this property is more than a little incorrect and one wonders what it would take to please certain people (Nick M). Brantfell Lodge is a substantial 3 bedroomed property in a perfect location. It is within yards of Bowness and an easy 5 minute stroll to the shops, pubs and restaurants. Parking is simple on this property with plenty of room for several cars although I will agree that you need to turn left out on to the road because the road is busy. The Lodge is extremely well equiped with everything a family could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. The loft conversion does have low beams but this is standard with most conversions and for those people with eyes it is never a problem. However, i'm being picky here the TV in the loft needs upgrading and each bedroom would benefit from a tv in such a high standard home. It was advertised as a 3 bathroom property but only has 2 so some sharing will be needed. I was also a little disappointed to find no Sky Tv, ideal for rainy nights. The owner was lovely and popped along to say hello. I would definitely stay again.
“Previous review is unrepresentative of property access”
We stayed at the lodge the week after the previous clients, in that week I too drove a car " in through the roadside gates" turned the vehicle around in front of the garage and then reveresed up to the front door without any problems. Any competent driver should be able to manoever their vehicle within the property boundary to exit it and join the highway facing forward. My son slept in the converted loft space awhere of the height restriction due to the obvious beams running the length of the bedroom, being over six foot he didn't shed any blood at all , he was just visually observant ,this transpired into the bathroom as well.
“Wonderful place to stay”
This is our 2nd stay here, love the place . Location fantastic, ample parking, two bathrooms + ensuite. You would be hard pressed to find anywhere better. Dog friendly too, with garden that's a real sun trap,. Lovely and cozy rooms, can,t be beat, oh and lovely owners of the property , who we happened to meet. We will definitely be back.
“comfortable and well equipped”
My family and I stayed in Brantfell Lodge for a week to celebrate my 70th birthday. The house is well equipped and extremely comfortable. It was good to have a bathroom for each of the 3 bedrooms and to be supplied with towels. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms light and airy with ample storage space. The owner had thoughtfully provided the means to secure the back patio area so that the dog could be allowed out. The owner made herself known to us on our arrival, which was a nice touch, and telephoned on the departure day to make sure that we were satisfied with our stay. The situation is an ideal spot from which to explore the Lake District and eating places are within a few minutes walk.
“ritchie family holiday”
we had a lovely stay at brantfell lodge. The house was beautiful and comfortable. It is 5 minutes from the lake and shops and 5 minutes from the car ferry. We would definitely recommend this property for a holiday, the owners are lovely. We will book this property again.
Very nice cottage, well located, good facilities inside, tidy and nice condition. Admin team at Cottage Holiday Group seem pretty useless, not sure I'd book with them again.
The house was clean and comfortable. It's location meant it was so nice to be able to walk to the lake, especially in the evening.
“All round brilliant holiday house”
House is lovely and homely with everything you could possibly need. Landlady was friendly and attentive. Location is superb, walking distance to shops, pubs, cafes and the ferrys but far enough out to be peaceful and quiet. Garden is a lovely extra and being able to take our dog was great and he was well accommodated as well with bowls, towels and blankets. All in all a great package and we will certainly be returning.
