Lots of character,very clean and cosy.

Lots of character,very clean and cosy. Loved the garden area,great views across the countryside.Nice to sit out in the evening and watch the sunset. The Wheatsheaf pub in the village serves excellent food,very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend if you want somewhere peaceful

“Honeypot cottage Was spotless when we arrived, and the condition of the property was fantastic better than we had hoped.”

We have stayed in many cottages and this was by far the cleanest upon arrival. The location set on the hillside giving fabulous sunset views from the garden, was an added bonus. The Wheatsheaf pub at the bottom of the hill is open for outdoor dining and drinks Wednesday to Sunday currently and the food was a limited choice but very nice all the same. There was a couple of minor issues with the cottage. The bed was a little hard for our liking and took some getting used too. And the Log burner, we had brought some wood with us as we were unsure if there was going to be any at the property, but after reading the welcome pack it said only use dry wood from the wood store out back. Unfortunately the wood store was bare, but not a problem as we had brought some. But I wasn’t expecting no means to light the fire, not a match or lighter anywhere on the property. In properties with burners, I’d always expect a welcome pack of wood and a couple of fire lighters and some matches at least to get you started. But I would happily return to the Honeypot cottage if I was staying in the South Lakes area again.

“Such a wonderful holiday cottage .”

It was exactly like the photographs . It was super clean . It had everything one would need for a holiday . Great information in the hand book . It was really useful for things like the heating , using the fire and the wet room . The cottage was in a good area and quite a central area if you have a car . Beautiful scenery to wake up to each morning.

“I appreciate that Covid 19 has meant a lot of changes but the lack of cushions on the settees did annoy me,I had recently had surgery on my shoulder and had to go out and buy some to make the settees comfortable.”

BRIGSTEER

Helsington 1.5 miles; Levens 2.1 miles; Kendal 5 miles.

Brigsteer is a hamlet between the towns of Helsington and Levens and about five miles from Kendal in Cumbria. Brigsteer is located on the edge of the Lyth valley with Scout Scar overlooking the village itself. Village amenities include a village hall and a local pub called The Wheatsheaf Inn. There are still three working farms in the village of Brigsteer with many more developments having been built since. Nearby Levens has more amenities including a general store/newsagent and a pub. Levens consists of a huddle of fine, stone-built traditional houses, cottages and barn conversions surrounded by unspoilt countryside, with varied flora and fauna and a nature reserve providing beautiful walking country. Kendal is further away being known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes, being ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.
