Valerie “Absolutely lovely, everything was of a very high standard and we enjoyed our stay immensely.”
- Valerie, February 2022 -
Helen “Heating a bit too warm and only managed to turn it down for a period of time.”
Kept coming on during the night
- Helen, January 2022Steve “V good.”
- Steve, December 2021Asha “Walden was lovely and we had a great time.”
It was lovely and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Clear instructions on using the heating and hot water control would be good. I'm still not clear after a week on how to set it for the Times we wanted. The heating came on at 4 inn the morning and the it just got too hot. It would be nice to add a couple of things to the kitchen equipment - a whisk, a couple of mixing bowls and a casserole dish. The cottage is so lovely it's nice to stay in and enjoy it and make a meal sometimes.
- Asha, November 2021Thank you so much for giving us a perfect score. I have reset the nest heating times and encourage quests to feel free to turn temperatures up or down to keep themselves warm and cosy. I have also ordered the extra kitchen equipment you kindly suggested we needed. Property Owner
Samantha “Really gorgeous holiday cottage in fabulous Cartmel - we really didn't want to leave!”
Everything was super comfortable with lovely little touches throughout and high quality furniture and bedding, making it feel a real home from home, Lovely and warm, with the extra help of a log burner with logs to use, which was nice. The kitchen had everything you needed (although it was definitely a bit colder than the rest of the house), the showers super powerful with lots of hot water, the little bar in the sitting room a great little touch and everything spotlessly clean. We'd definitely stay again and don't hesitate to book this place - you won't regret it
- Samantha, November 2021Tony and Anne Cowlin “This is a first class cottage!”
We have greatly appreciated its comfort, stylish furnishings and the fact that it is so well equipped. We love the situation of Walden, the views and the great patio. We shall no doubt be back soon! Thanks!
- Tony and Anne Cowlin, Oct 2021Mark “Wonderful location, great property, exquisite decoration and furniture, clean and lovely bedding, information folder was very useful, extremely positive first impression, had a lovely bottle of prosecco on arrival and welcome pack (water/jams/coffee/tea).”
Loved the private patio area. Definitely will return in future. Minor areas for consideration as improvements: 1). Leaving a little wood for first night of log burner. 2). Could do with a general dust, as cobwebs everywhere.
- Mark, September 2021Thank you so much for such positive feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We normally do leave a bag of logs for the Logburner but unfortunately we missed a delivery that week. Normal service has now resumed! Property Owner

- Edmunds and Suttons, Sep 2021Clare “Lovely cottage.”
Really enjoyed our stay. Shame we couldn’t use the upstairs shower due to fault.
- Clare, August 2021David “Enjoed the sun trap garden, although a shade would have been nice.”
Good location. Great wifi and TV. Parking voucher was helpful. Four person was confortable, but six might be a sqeeze.
- David, July 2021Paul “Had a brilliant time, beautifully furnished and well located cottage in the small village of Cartmel.”
Great base for our week exploring the lakes.
- Paul, June 2021Chloe “Had a great week!”
The house is gorgeous and in a fantastic location with great pubs and restaurants. Thank you for being amazing. :-)
- Chloe, Jun 2021Charlotte “There was only a parking permit for 1 car, as this is a house for 6 people, we expected there to be 2 parking permits (as most cars carry 5 people).”
I think this needs to be made clear on the listing, as on some days we found it difficult to park. Other than that a lovely well equipped house.
