The property

Settled in the charming village of Cartmel is Walden, a mid-terrace double-fronted cottage sleeping up to six guests.

This South Lakeland dwelling enjoys wonderful features from the exposed timber frames to the pretty enclosed garden overlooking the famous Cartmel Priory.

Be welcomed into the cottage and head straight into the beautiful living/dining room where a collection of vibrant plush seating offers the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

Flick on the Smart TV and light the woodburning stove on a cool evening for the perfect night in, or feel fancy with some cocktails in the cocktail corner, a great place to toast to your trip!

Get cooking in the fantastic kitchen/diner, home to shaker style units and Neff appliances, along with views out to the Priory and a lovely dining table to gather around.

By the patio doors there is a homely snug area with an armchair perfectly placed for sitting down with a good book, while the warmer months will see you step out into the enclosed garden to relish the afternoon sun and admire the picturesque village views.

The ground floor is home to a pretty single bedroom, served by a ground-floor shower room where the washing machine can be found too.

Head upstairs to discover three more bedrooms, each as lovely as the next including two doubles and a single, with all boasting plenty of storage for your things and thoughtful, stylish décor.

Serving the upstairs bedrooms is another shower room, featuring a large shower enclosure to feel refreshed in as you begin your day.

Explore the delightful village of Cartmel with its winding, narrow streets that lead onto the market square, here you'll find several traditional pubs and the village shop which is known for its wonderful sticky toffee pudding!

Treat yourself to a dining experience like no other at Cartmel's own Michelin starred restaurant, L'Enclume, owned by chef Simon Rogan, you can expect locally sourced and seasonal dishes cooked to a sublime standard.

Head to the coast at Grange-over-Sands and take walks along the promenade for that fresh sea air coming from Morecambe Bay, with the Oriental Gardens to wander through and an open-air lido for warmer days in summer.

Have fun exploring Hoker Hall & Gardens, with 200 acres of grounds at your feet scattered with woodland and home to a deer park, with tours of the grand Cumbrian hall available too.
