    • “EXCELLENT LOCATION!!! Very comfortable indeed! Lots of steps, so unsuitable for the less mobile and only one main toilet/bathroom was a nuisance - a lot of the time... But a great base for a walking holiday.”

    Mrs Hamer, Lancashire, December 2018

    • “We had a very enjoyable stay at Mountain Retreat , Coniston, the accomodation was excellent ,location excellent, all in all a good week was had by all . The point we would like to bring up would improve the future stays for anyone else going to stay, 1) There is no Hairdryer in the house, much to the annoyance of the ladies, if we had known that we would have brought one!”

    Mrs Hamilton, Belford, November 2018

    • “The property was a very high standard throughout. Very relaxing cottage and very clean and comfortable bed. The bathroom shower water pressure was below standard. The oven was poor as the grill didn’t work properly and got very hot externally. Also the door if open hit the oven door, annoying. On occasions the water from the kitchen tap water un-drinkable very odd taste, but not all the time !!”

    Mr Simpson, York, November 2018

    • “We have stayed here before but missed it last year. We were very happy to be back and have booked again for 2019. Only critique is the en suite shower wets through the entire bathroom and the main bath room shower is quite weak which is not ideal after a long day in the cold weather. These are niggles but it would be nice.”

    Mr Wood, Kendal, October 2018

    • “The accommodation was very good to outstanding however future customers need to be aware that 1) parking is available outside BUT can often be taken up by others 2) There are two bathrooms but one is an ensuite. This means that if for instance you have three couples in the upstairs double bedrooms they will be sharing one loo, particularly relevant to older couples!”

    Mr Delahunty, Preston, October 2018

    • “Great location and spacious accommodation with fantastic views”

    Mr Audley, August 2018

    • “The photographs of the property didn’t really do it justice. The rooms were elegantly furnished and decorated and far larger than we had anticipated so there was plenty of room for our family of seven without falling over each other. The instructions left for the various appliances, WiFi and what to do in and around Coniston were extensive. We loved the apartment, the area and everything about our short break (apart from myself and my husband being unable to manage the full walk up to Old Man Coniston, but then as the kids reminded us, we’re getting on now) cheeky monkeys!”

Mrs Cooper, Leamington Spa, August 2018

    • “Fantastic location in the centre of the village.”

    Mrs Herrington, Tervuren, July 2018

    • “Stayed here for the 2nd time for a running event The Coniston 14 and the property as everything needed. Was pleased to see an iron had been purchased from our last stay so thank you. Outstanding property.”

    Mrs Cresswell, Belper, March 2018

    • “Absolutely lovely cottage, better than the photographs infact! It was quite cold inside when we first arrived but soon warmed up the next day. Location was perfect, beds were comfortable. Instructions as to who's bin belonged to which house would have been helpful. File full of local history, eaterys and local places to visit was fab. There was two broken glasses when we arrived and the hoover is pretty useless but other than that i would absolutely go back 10x over!!!!”

    Miss Hall, Ferryhill, March 2018

    • “Only drawback was the 10am departure on Sunday. We were all sad to leave.”

    Mrs Bergin, Bradford, February 2018

    • “Fantastic property in a beautiful area.”

    Mr Mulligan, Manchester, February 2018

    • “The cottage we stayed was great. Perfect location and very comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay.”

    Dr Mosely, Reading, February 2018

    • “Second visit to Mountain Escape and it was a good as I remembered. It’s location right in the centre of the village is brilliant. Everything is provided for a real home from home holiday.”

Mrs Yeates, ST HELENS, October 2017

    • “Beautiful property- excellent position. Everything was done to an extremely high standard - our only complaint would be that there were no instructions for the oven/grill!”

    Mr Thompson, Lutterworth, September 2017

    • “Just one draw back that there was no iron available which was bit unusual but rest was far better than expected. Kids loved the play room .location was a hit with give.”

    Dr Nasir, Ashford, August 2017

    • “What a fantastic place. We couldn't have been better located for the Lakeland 50 race. We will definitely book again thanks”

    Mrs Broadhurst, Chester, July 2017

    • “The only recommendation would be to have an iron and ironing board there. We were there for a wedding and it would have been very useful. Other than that the place was great”

    Mr Tattersfield, London, July 2017
