“Just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at Charonini Studio.”

Pam & Neil were welcoming hosts, and made sure we didn’t want for anything during our stay. Lovely surprise breakfast hamper and drinks in the fridge which was a nice touch.

The studio was very well appointed and even had use of the bbq, which came in very handy with the great weather we had. Nice secure garden for Otto our Daschund and fantastic views from the raised patio/veranda. Overall a great stay, and we look forward to our next visit.

“Had an amazing first holiday with my dog (Ronnie) The studio was stunning, it was just perfect, it was clean and had everything you needed to relax and chill out!”

! The owners were so welcoming and the breakfast hamper was so thoughtful. The garden was secure which was perfect for my Ronnie's first holiday! Perfect location and lots of dog walks close by. Beautiful views when having a few glasses of wine at night! Will definitely be back! Xx

Everything about it was perfect, beautifully presented and exceeded our expectations. We really appreciated the thought that had gone into creating a an energy efficient and sustainable property, and the little touches like bamboo toothbrushes and the generous food and drink pack were really lovely. The hosts were so helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend this property for a relaxing break in this beautiful part of the country.

The property

The Studio - Charonini is a contemporary, studio-style property in Plumpton near Penrith, Cumbria, surrounded by countryside.

This pet-friendly apartment offers a romantic break with open-plan living, plenty of outdoor space, and convenient access to both the Lake District and the North Pennines.

For those planning an outdoor excursion, there are two parking places, one off-road and the other in the garage with bike storage.

Climb the stairs to your home-away-from-home, where an open-plan space has been lovingly furnished; relax into the contemporary kitchen with marble counters to prepare a home-cooked supper for your other half, which will be served at the breakfast bar for two.

The area is bright and airy to curl up on the sofa with a good book in the mornings, while nights may be spent watching the Smart TV.

Step out onto the sheltered patio with a nice glass of wine and enjoy the panoramic views of the countryside, or use the gas barbecue on the elevated terrace.

If you time it just so, you'll be able to dine as the sun sets, while your pet can relax on the lawn.

After a day of hiking in the Lake District, return to the shower room for a hot shower before getting ready for bed.

Take a short trip into the Lake District if you're looking for some fresh air; places like Pooley Bridge on the shores of Ullswater and Keswick along Derwentwater are popular spots for scenic hikes and attractions, including Keswick's Theatre By The Lake for a romantic evening!

You can also climb the nearby Cross Fell, the area's tallest peak, Ashgill Force, and the Pennine Way, England's first National Trail, in the North Pennines to the east.

Spend the day at Carlisle, on the Scottish Border, with its wealth of history; Carlisle Castle and Cathedral are stunning, and Hadrian's Wall is a short walk away along the historic fort ruins.
