Barry “We had a few days near Windemere at the begining of July and stayed at Helm Rigg which provided a good base from which to explore the area.”
The two bedroomed flat was clean and tidy with a parking space in front of its garage, mind your doors on the pillars though. While it has a balcony, there is no view as such, and the same can be said about the windows. There is one flight of stairs to the flat from the higher street entrance, but four flights from the car park. We had to wash the cutlery before using as some of it hadn't been cleaned to good by the previous user. While the block of flats was relatively quiet, we found sleeping ...
While the block of flats was relatively quiet, we found sleeping difficult as the mattress had the firmness of a marsh mallow, but if you like that sort of thing I guess you'll be okay. The bathroom lacks a major thing, get a blind fitted! Despite the frosted glass, anyone taking a shower in the evening when the bathroom light is on is clearly visible to any individual, or pervert, walking or standing on the trail directly opposite. The only way to solve this problem was to position a towel over the window. Key collection and dropping off was easy using the office key box, as we arrived late and left early hours, and the Lakes and walks were fantastic.
