“We had a wonderful stay at Stybarrow cottage.”

It is a cosy cottage, with a fully equipped kitchen, cosy living room, and very nice bedrooms. We were hiking most days in the snow and wind, so we appreciated the drying cupboard, the warm showers and the gas fire in the living room. Helen was very helpful and friendly, and we will definitely be back again soon!

“Stybarrow Cottage is one of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in.”

In a lovely position, it was perfectly situated for getting around to lots of places and an extremely comfortable ‘home’ to come back to at the end of a good day out. We would be very happy to return at some time.

“Great location, off road parking and spotlessly clean.”

The cottage was very well equipped with plenty of cutlery and crockery and cooking utensils. We would normally stay in a hotel but my parents were nervous about doing that so this was their first ever ' cottage' experience and it could not have been better. They loved it and will be looking to do this again.

The owner was very welcoming and the cottage was full of nice little touches to enhance our stay. The location is exceptional for walking and activities on Ullswater. Thank you Helen for the scones and milk on arrival and the lemon drizzle cake was another nice gesture.

“Highly recommended”

Brilliant location and spacious accommodation, warm and maintained to a high standard. Met Helen who gave us a warm welcome on arrival and showed us all we needed to know about the cottage plus a plateful of freshly baked scones. Will certainly be returning in the near future . “Excellent Cottage. Very welcoming owner.”

We have just returned from a lovely stay in a wonderful cottage that had every mod con. The accomodation was spotless and well maintained throughout. We particularly appreciated the well kept garden and the bedroom balcony with views over Helvellyn. The owner could not have been more welcoming. We were treated to homebaking and she even brought our shopping in for us when we arrived late. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Highly recommend .

“Another Superb Stay!”

We have just got back after our second stay here with our boys and it never disappoints! Spotless, Spacious, and Cosy!!! The owner clearly takes pride and care into cleaning and maintaining this property! Ideal location, use of local Hotel pool very useful with two boys. Highly recommend will definitely be returning!!!

“Lovely cottage - great location.”

3 generations of our family stayed at the cottage last week and we all enjoyed the week. Plenty of room for us to spend time together eating or playing games or just relaxing on our own. The top floor bedroom with two sofas and balcony was much appreciated. The owner was very kind and provided scones with cream and strawberries on arrival and topped us up with butter shortcake biscuits and lemon drizzle cake later in the week! We had great weather, despite the forecast, and enjoyed the sunshine in the garden with the new patio table and comfy seats set by the house and the chairs and coffee table on the "evening" terrace at the end of the garden. The views at the back of the house were wonderful and we walked to Lantys Tarn across the hillside behind the house twice. Glenridding sailing centre is nearby as well as the steamer port and the hiring point for motor boats so boat lovers can have a really good time. Then of course there is Helvellyn for the more adventurous but we had eaten too much cake!

“A Haven”

Absolutely loved being a guest at Helen's extremely comfortable and well stocked cottage in the heart of Glenridding. A wonderful base to explore the beautiful Lake District and felt very well looked after with little surprise baked deliciousnesses being left for us over several days. A real home with a heart and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. We were two families of mothers, and double boy trouble and we all had our own space and more with the beautiful top floor being used as a castle turret whilst the kitchen and glowing fire in the sitting room were the grown up domain with a nice neutral buffer zone of bedrooms in the middle. Lovely garden with barbecue area, TUMBLE DRIER, and use of the very nice indoor pool in the hotel down the road. Great shop within stumbling downhill distance and marvellous pub just a minute up the hill. Thank you Helen and the lovely locals - GREAT HOLIDAY

The accommodation was of an exceptionally high standard, warm, modern, welcoming and very spacious. The owner, Helen, gave us a detailed tour of the house upon our arrival. One had the distinct impression that nothing was too much trouble and she did indeed answer any questions which we had. The local amenities were sufficient and easily accessible. The property

This recently converted cottage has a balcony to take in the views of Helvellyn and is within a short walk of Lake Ullswater.

With a cottage garden, the cottage is an ideal base from which to relax and unwind in this popular area. The row of former mine workers cottages sit above the pretty village of Glenridding on the southern shore of Ullswater at the foot of Helvellyn with walking from the door.

The village has 3 pubs, a restaurant and 2 shops and the area is awash with water sports and activity centres, along with the Ullswater Steamers picking up in the village enabling you to hop on and off exploring the lake without the use of a car.

Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick and Penrith are easily accessible with a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Stybarrow Cottage is a recently renovated and extended three storey Lakeland stone cottage that is immaculately presented with much care and attention to detail by the owner who lives close by and gives a warm welcome on arrival.

The property benefits from a cottage style garden with lawn, two patios, BBQ and magnificent views to Helvellyn towering above. The oil fired centrally heated cottage comprises: Lounge with TV, DVD player, video and living flame gas fire. Breakfast kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and views over the garden to Helvellyn. Utility/cloakroom with washing machine and WC. There is a coin operated tumble dryer in the outhouse. First floor: Double bedroom with en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
