    “Absolutely amazing week away.”

The cottage was very clean, had everything we wanted and we were pleasantly surprised how big it was. Lovely area, we will definitely return.

The property

This cosy apartment is part of an attractive stone-built Victorian house set in the heart of Grange-over-Sands, only a short walk from the village amenities.

With the attractions of the Lake District less than 12 miles away, Boddencroft will appeal to those looking to tour the UK’s most-loved National Parks.

The interior has been completely renovated with individual styling and contemporary furnishings, resulting in a wonderful holiday home.

The ground floor can be accessed at the first floor level from the rear of the building.

Wander into the open-plan living area, made up of the well-equipped kitchen with dining table and the snug sitting room which offers views towards the bay.

The ground floor also consists of a double bedroom and ample bathroom while the first floor hosts the remaining two bedrooms, these being king-size and twin arrangements.

Almost each window in Boddencroft provides a view of some sort, whether it be across the town or towards the sea, acting as a constant reminder of the unspoilt surroundings.

Eat out at one of the many restaurants or pubs in the village, or grab a quick bite at the popular Hazelmere Café or Grange Bakery.

A stroll along the promenade is highly recommended, giving you a chance to take in the views over the estuary.

If exploration takes you out of the village, then you must pay a visit to the Lake District, boasting the touristy villages of Ambleside and Bowness, each serving delights of their own.

A superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.

About the location

Cartmel 2 miles; Lake Windermere 8 miles; Kendal 10 miles.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and world famous topiary gardens, Holker Hall, Furness Abbey, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust medieval house and gardens, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house. There is also the 25 mile Cistercian Way which starts at Grange over Sands. Set amidst the southern lakes, the attractive town of Grange-over-Sands makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.
