    “Recently stayed at hillberry in grange over sands for six nights and all i can tell you is we could not find a single negative about our stay ,from the start the booking procedure with sykes was very easy and the owners of the house responded straight away to any questions and were very helpful, the house for a vacation is fabulous as it has everything you coud want and is in a lovely peaceful setting but only a few minute walk to shops ,bars ,restaurants and takeaways, what we enjoyed a lot about our stay was using the train to visit lots of places like lancaster ,ulveston etc its a 20 minute walk to the station and tickets were surprisingly cheap ,can heartily recommend taking the train to arnside just over the bay just to have the fish and chips.”

The property

Situated in the quaint village of Grange-over-Sands between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay, Hillberry is a charming stone cottage, perfect for families seeking a Cumbrian retreat.

Boasting four floors, the first floor is occupied by an open-plan living area, comprising of an ample kitchen and dining room with the benefit spectacular views from the Juliet balcony, along with a comfortable sitting room.

The second floor plays host to the king-size bedroom as well as the twin with en-suite facilities and a single.

There is also a family bathroom on this level.

Completing the interior is the spacious family bedroom and bathroom on the third level.

Access to the garden can be gained from the French doors in the dining room leading to the paved veranda and raised lawn section.

From the property you can walk into the town centre of Grange-over-Sands where you can find a range of restaurants, pubs and shops.

Also in the town is the Promenade, enriched with stunning bay views that is perfect for a refreshing morning stroll or catching the sunset in the evening.

The town of Cartmel is only six miles away, offering attractions such as the racecourse and popular sticky toffee pudding shop.

For a wider scope on the beauty of the area, spend a day in the Lake District at the popular towns of Ambleside and Windermere, or enjoy a cruise across Windermere if you simply fancy absorbing the scenery.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK.
