    “This was a modern semi bungalow near the centre of Grange over Sands - clean, modern, comfortable, well equipped.”

    Nothing we could want for really. It is situated up a steep hill and has steps to access so may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. Parking outside & good decking to rear garden. Lots to do in surrounding area & stunning views of Morecambe Bay from the front windows. We would certainly return for another holiday here.

The property

This well-furnished, single-storey cottage lies in the pretty village of Grange-over-Sands on the southern tip of the Cartmel peninsula.

A relaxing escape for a family or two couples, Hillside has been fully renovated with contemporary finishes, providing for an overall quality accommodation.

The village offers several pubs and restaurants and also a popular bakery and toffee pudding shop, leaving you with lots of eating choices.

Work all that food off with an enjoyable coastal walk, perhaps along the promenade or through the limestone hills.

Just a short drive away is the Lake District and its many attractions with the lively hubs of Bowness and Ambleside closeby, along with the highly recommended cruise across Windermere, there’s so much to see and do.

Being situated in the southern Lakes, but also on the coast, this attractive cottage is well placed to explore locally or further afield, making this a perfect holiday location, anytime of year.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK.
