“Stonegarth is a really nice cottage in a central location.”

Stayed Aug 5th - Aug 12th 2022. Everything was lovely. Owners Sharon and Attilio are a lovely couple who were there to welcome us and were there to say Goodbye as we we leaving . They live on site and made us feel very welcome - we will definitely return to this little gem of a cottage

Lovely owners who made us feel at home over Christmas. The accommodation itself is faultless, there seems to be everything you could imagine. Lovely kitchen with all the utensils you could wish for. Plenty of storage room. Centrally located in the village of Grasmere, 1 minute walk to The Good Sports. Perfect holiday.

Cups were chipped (2) and a real hazard when picking them up with hot contents- tray would have been handy tourist info going back to 2014 cleaning product for the bathroom would have been handy these comments are meant to be positive, because the place/venue was first class

“Stonegarth is a beautifully appointed apartment.”

Everything required for a break in the Lakes. The kitchen and living room are open plan and very comfortable. Seating for two at the dividing table. Underfloor heating throughout and a very comfortable bed. Best sleep I've had for a while! The apartment is located in the the village which is ideal, there is a short stroll to the shops are pubs / cafes.

“Stonegarth Cottage has a perfect position in Grasmere, with offroad parking, lovely facilities and a light and cosy living area.”

We loved it. It's perfect for two people wanting to enjoy a central location in the Lake District with the option to walk/run/chill from their doorstep or have the option to hop in a car/on a bus and visit Keswik, Ambleside, Coniston (for example). The owners are really helpful and are there if you need to ask their advice and will make sure you have everything you need. Top marks for Stonegarth and we will be back!

“Excellent holiday accommodation in the centre of Grasmere, we could leave the car and catch the bus.”

Stonegarth Cottage is very clean, comfortable accommodation with a modern well equipped kitchen, wet room and underfloor heating. The owners made us feel very welcome and met us on arrival to show us around. Somewhere we would definitely recommend.

The property

Stonegarth is a one bedroomed cottage ideally situated in the centre of the popular Lakeland village of Grasmere, there are an abundance of scenic walks directly from the door, you may never need to move your car. Stonegarth Cottage is an ideal base for couples wishing to walk many of the local fells and mountains and also for those who wish to have a more relaxed holiday, located in the centre of Grasmere and within a few minutes walk to the lake, shops, pubs and restaurants.Dove Cottage is a short stroll away as is the world famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop. The modern apartment is all on one level and is therefore ideal for those who have difficulties with stairs.

The garden area is an ideal retreat to enjoy a glass of wine after a day on the fells or to relax on a sunny day. Stonegarth has solid oak flooring with under floor heating throughout and comprises: Open plan living accommodation, lounge with TV and DVD, patio doors lead from the lounge out to the garden. Dining area adjacent to the kitchen which is equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer and dishwasher. Bedroom with King size zip and link bed which can be converted to twins by prior arrangement which can be linked together to make a super king size bed (please advise when booking if you require twin beds) with en-suite wet room with shower, WC and hand basin. All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included. No cot or highchair available Private parking. Garden area. Wi-Fi available.

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
