“Lovely cottage, very peaceful location, plenty of information on places to eat and local walks good off road parking right next to the door.”

Very comfy beds. Only negative there was insufficient kindly to light the fire in the living room, we would of expected this to have been provided.

A little further afield in neighbouring valleys lie the delights of the Langdale Pikes, Scafell and Old Man of Coniston. The cottages also lie on the Lakes and Dales cycle route, and cycle storage is provided for two bicycles in each cottage The local country pub of The Newfield Inn, which also sells essential groceries, is under a mile away and serves traditional home cooked food and local ales from 9am to 9pm, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. Approximately six miles away is the unspoilt village of Broughton-in-Furness, home to a cobbled square surrounded by Georgian coloured houses and provides all the essentials with a deli, butchers, grocers, bakery, post office, a petrol station and cafe as well as three further traditional Lakeland pubs.
