    “WHAT A PLACE!”

!!! This small family run business is certainly one to look out for. The location itself is magnificent, with amazing views! We stayed for 3 nights, and it was just perfect. The hot tub is definitely the thing that captures people for these types of getaways. Enough cannot be said for the location, or the family that run these hideaways. If you want a private getaway this would be the one. I was so impressed with the cleanliness, the overall look of the lodge. We had everything we need. The ...

The owners were excellent always there for us when we needed them. It is an easy drive into the Lake District for walks, and site seeing. Not to mention the views themself from the lodge. Its quiet, its private, it unique. I would recommend this lodge to anyone! If you want to relax on some annual leave, or you just want a break, this is the place. I will certainly be coming back, to explore even more. Family run businesses are too and far between nowadays, but this one hits the spot, it just shows there are still small businesses who care!!! Get yourself down to the hideaway and lodges, you will not be disappointed! I just want to say a massive thank you to the family that run this, we had an excellent time, and really wish them all the best.

About the location

BRAMPTON, CUMBRIA

Carlisle 10 miles.

The market town of Brampton is the ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall. The town boasts a rich and colourful history going back to the Roman occupation, Border reivers from Scotland and the Jacobite uprisings, plus bonnie Prince Charlie established his headquarters in one of the old buildings in Brampton. In the centre of the town is Moot Hall, which was built in 1817, and now houses the Tourist Information Centre, and there is a large motte to the east of the town, which is 135 feet high and has the statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle on it. A few miles outside Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park. It covers 120 acres of farmland and woodland, 65 of which make up the Tarn, a 10,000 year old glacial lake, fed by underwater springs. Two miles away is Gelt Woods, which is an ancient woodland and RSPB nature reserve and has the River Gelt running through it. Brampton is a wonderful base for exploring this historic and scenic area.
