Enjoyable week at macan for 2nd year running cosy and homely accommodation only downside was the ferry was not running yet again and had to drive If wanting to go to bowness other than that enjoyed great walks locally with our border collie who loved going in the lake for a good paddle

The views across Windermere were amazing. We cannot fault this property especially for the comfort and cleanliness. Many thoughtful touches like a welcome basket full of quality items together with bathroom luxuries. The property is a perfect base for exploring and so convenient for the ferry which was only yards away. We will definitely be returning to such a gem.

Mitchell Wyke Bay

This lovely set of seven cottages rest in the village of Far Sawrey, close to Hawkshead and Bowness. Each wrapped in views of a beautiful lake; the scenery can be admired from the comfort of your holiday home, as you relax in style. Also close by is ‘Hill Top’, once the home of Beatrix Potter, and Hawkshead with its picturesque 17th century cottages. Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village and Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forests and tarns. Watersports are close at hand on Windermere, along with Lake Cruises and the majestic Wray Castle to admire. Fishing can be enjoyed on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
