Offering a blend of rustic features and spacious living quarters, the accommodation is ideal for families who wish to come together and explore this peaceful part of the UK. The sitting room and kitchen/diner define the pleasantly old-fashioned look of the cottage, through its exposed beams and original stone features. All the bedrooms are located on the second floor, with the choice of a king-size double, regular double and a single to satisfy your sleeping requirements. The large bathroom completes the interior to this Kendal cottage. Kendal is well-known for its shopping reputation through the Westmorland Shopping Center which offers a range of boutiques and top high street brands. Fancy eating out? Then dive into the menu of one of the fine restaurants and cafes located down the ‘Yards’ - small narrow alleyways which branch off the main street. The position of 9 Camden Building provides easy access to Sizergh Castle and Levens Halls, both boasting their own individuality and character. Further afield you might want to uncover the popularity behind the Lake District, with its many thriving villages and natural beauty. A superb base with range of nearby exploration options.

About the location

KENDAL

Windermere 8 miles.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
