    Mr Taylor

“Kent Lea Cottage is a spacious, warm and comfortable house, quietly sited and ideal as a base for the South Lakes and well placed even for the Yorkshire Dales.”

Clean, cosy and tidy, with a home-made cake and buns waiting for our arrival, it made for a lovely week - despite all the rain.

The property

Resting on the fringe of Kendal adjacent to the Carus Green Golf Centre is this well-equipped, semi-detached house.

The interior has been thoughtfully furnished to provide a holiday home of real comfort, perfect for your family getaway.

The cosy sitting room benefits from a gas fire, ensuring your snugness during those colder periods.

Navigate further through the ground floor to find the well-equipped kitchen complete with a dining set, along with the conservatory that offers views across the golf course.

Kent Lea Cottage hosts three bedrooms, with the choices of king-size double bedroom upstairs, or the two twin bedrooms on the ground floor.

There is a bathroom on each floor for added convenience.

Due to being positioned on the outskirts of Kendal, you gain the benefit of the peace and quiet of the area while only being 1.5 miles from the amenities of the village, such as a range of restaurants and excellent local shops.

Nearby you can enjoy a wander around Sizergh Castle or the Levens Hall, taking in the fascinating artefacts of the buildings.

Lake Windermere is also easily accessible and with the popular town of Bowness roughly 9 miles away, it’s definitely worth a visit.

A delightful blend of relaxation and activity to be enjoyed from this Kendal cottage.

About the location

Windermere 8 miles.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
