“This cottage is situated off bitten track in the middle of some fantastic Lake District walks accessible to all levels.”

It is authentic old cottage, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We loved it.

The property

Nestled within the owner's farmland, on the fringes of Little Langdale, within the beautiful Lake District National Park, is Fell Foot Cottage.

Positioned some six miles from Ambleside with Brathay River babbling along close by and breath-taking views of the Langdale Pikes, this semi-detached cottage offers a cosy feel inside.

It boasts bags of character, with low beams framing the sitting room and slate flooring throughout.

Curl up on the sofa with your loved ones and enjoy an evening in front of the woodburning stove.

Cook up a hearty meal in the kitchen and dine over a bottle of wine, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere engulfing the cottage.

After a day on the fells, indulge in a hot soak in the bath tub or wake up to a refreshing shower.

There are many walks and cycle routes from the doorstep, whilst the charming villages of Elterwater and Chapel Stile have well-stocked shops and traditional pubs luring you in.

Explore the picturesque landscape that inspired Wordsworth and discover the World of Beatrix Potter; you have Dove Cottage in Grasmere, the Old Grammar School in Hawkshead and the National Trust's Hill Top in Near Sawrey.

There is plenty more available for the whole family in terms of outdoor pursuits and walking opportunities.

This is a superb base to choose for your next holiday to the Lake District.

About the location

LITTLE LANGDALE

Ambleside 5 miles.

The small hamlet of Little Langdale quietly sits in a scenic valley and consists of a scattering of houses and a local pub. The area is separated by the Lingmoor Fell from Great Langdale and is accessed via a twisting road which runs alongside the Brathay River, eventually passing by Little Langdale Tarn and heading to the Wrynose pass, following the path of an ancient Roman road. The landscape is magnificent with many regarding the area as the most beautiful in the British Isles, if not indeed the whole of Europe, inspiring many great poets over the years including William Wordsworth, known for his love of the area. With Ambleside and the whole of the National Park within easy reach, this magical location is not to be missed!
