Denise “Had a wonderful family get together at this lovely cottage.”
Thank you
Thank you
- Denise, November 2019 -
Eamon “An excellent spacious property.”
The only issue of any note was that one of the twin bedrooms had 1 bed which, due to its length, prevented the bedroom door from closing ! As one of our party used this room, we had to lift the bed in question and reposition it alongside an existing bed.. not great. Suggest a smaller bed which fits into the room and allows the door to be closed !
- Eamon, October 2019Helen “We had 2 elderly staying with us and the staircase to downstairs was unmanageable but they were fine upstairs.”
Plenty of room and ample equipment for us to cook and self cater. Had a very enjoyable stay
- Helen, May 2019Wendy “We were a family group of 3 generations, 7 adults and 2 children.”
The cottage was ideal for us plenty of room with everything we needed. We loved the area and the view of the lake. Would recommend to others.
- Wendy, March 2019Jean “Excellent place to stay with all the facilities needed.”
Only complaint two plates in the middle were dirty with dried baked bean juice so ended up washing all the plates/pots in the dish washer.

About the location
POOLEY BRIDGE
Penrith 6 miles.
The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
Note: The Holiday Park is shut between Mid-November and Mid-March.
