I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Cherry Logde and the lodge itself was lovely! Well equipped, very clean and modern. Good location and beautiful views! However, the service received at the holiday park itself was a lot to be desired! When we checked in, the lady who served me was not welcoming or friendly at all. She'd asked if I had stayed before and I said no, she showed me on a map where to go. I had to ask her about where the pub and shop were as this was one of the attractions of booking this site. She said the shop was shut and the pub was being refurbished - much to my shock! I said it would have been nice to have been told this when I booked and she didn't say a word! This was very disappointing and I believe I should have been informed of this when I booked or at least, before we arrived.
“Comfortable, peaceful and lovely views”
We have stayed at Parkfoot many times camping, but wanted to have a more comfortable stay away from the crowds, so we booked Cherry Lodge and we were not dissappointed. The Lodge is spacious for a family of four and we could not fault it. The site was extremely busy with campers etc and felt a little too busy, but as you make your way up to the lodge it becomes quiet and peaceful. The view of Ullswater was lovely. We would definitly book this accommodation again when we visit the Lake District. Thank you Parkfoot.
We had a lovely 3 night stay here, and would thoroughly recommend this place. We went out of school holidays, so it was very quiet, but I am sure it would be a great place to stay with kids during the hols. The cottage was very well equipped and modern, with everything you could possibly want. Pooley Bridge is a lovely little village with a good selection of pubs. We would definitely stay again.
Lovely place and we had a great time!! Highly recommend!!
“Lovely walks good holiday camp and great accommodation”
We had a good week at Pooley Bridge and enjoyed the surroundings very much. It was a good base for travelling around and the log cabin was very comfortable. Recommended!

About the location
Penrith 6 miles.
The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
