The market town of Poulton le Fylde is situated midway between the coastal towns of Fleetwood and Blackpool, both about 5 miles away. There are regular bus and train services to both seaside resorts making Poulton an ideal base for those who are looking to take advantage of the attractions of the beach resorts but relax away from the hustle and bustle.
Blackpool is one of England premier beach resorts and hosts a wide array of attractions for young and old alike. Dominating the sky line, Blackpool Tower has a resident circus, dungeons, ball room and sky walk with panoramic views across Blackpool and the bay. The Pleasure Beach provides thrill seekers with hours of rides and the Pepsi Max Big One is not for the faint hearted. The Sandcastle Waterpark, with the worlds longest indoor rollercoaster waterslide, and Blackpool Zoo are both big hits with the kids and those that are just young at heart. Regional Information

POULTON-LE-FYLDE Blackpool 9 miles; Morecambe 18 miles; Lancaster 22 miles. The historic market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, within the Wyre Borough of Lancashire, is a charming place full of cobbled streets, unusual shops and ancient sights. Tour the town and its scenic surrounds on the three-mile long Poulton-le-Fylde Historic Trail, which sets off from River Wyre Hotel, a 19th century pub close to Skippool Creek, where smuggling was once rife. From here you wander past salad-growing fields and quaint cottages until you get to St Chad’s Church. In springtime the churchyard becomes a riot of colour thanks to carpets of purple, yellow and white crocuses. Traditionally agriculture was the main industry in the countryside surrounding Poulton-le-Fylde and records show that a market has been held in Market Square since at least 1348. This tradition continues to this day, with a farmers' market held every fourth Saturday. Poulton-le-Fylde has something to suit all tastes; visit Old Holly Farm and the Braedens Pony Trekking Centre, which make for great family days out. The Trough of Bowland is nearby, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while the many varied delights of Blackpool and Morecambe, as well as the towns of Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal and Windermere and the stunning Lake District National Park are all within easy reach, making this a great destination for everyone.
