    “Overall a really enjoyable holiday.”

    Loved the location of the bungalow.....

    Loved the location of the bungalow..... Our only negative - with the daily weather changes (which is not unusual for the Lakes!!) we were unable to turn on the central heating in the evenings - it appeared pre-set to come on only early mornings for an hour or so. The living room could turn quite cool/cold in the evenings. The location and facilities of ‘choices gym’ were fantastic especially the pool and spin class!

    Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and loved the location and facilities offered at Meadowside. The heating is set to 21 degrees Celsius for 4 hours in the morning and 5 hours in the evening, but the thermostat can be increased or decreased for your comfort; many of our previous visitors have done this. We are sorry you were unable to do this, the information is in the information book and we would have happily guided you through this had you contacted Sykes to make your holiday even more enjoyable. The property

Tucked away in the Lake District National Park, in the quaint village of Troutbeck Bridge near Windermere, is this pretty detached bungalow, Meadowside.

Surrounded by a peaceful, countryside vista and enjoying easy access to the National Park and its many picturesque towns, Meadowside is a superb setting for a family of five.

After parking in the sought-after off-road parking spaces, be sure to take a moment to savour those quaint views of the hills.

Be taken in by a stylish open-plan living space, where plush, grey sofas await you, along with a wall-mounted flat screen TV.

After unwinding in the sitting area, continue to the fabulous kitchen, where you will come across several handy appliances, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer!

Enjoy a quick meal or a coffee at the adjoining breakfast bar, or sit down with the family at the rustic dining table for dinner and catch up about your lakeside adventures.

When it's time to head to bed, progress down the corridor to find a super-king-size bed that is zip/linked for your convenience; continue through to find a beautifully decorated king-size room with a large curved window and ample built-in storage, along with a single room.

The bathroom can be found further down the corridor, with a superb shower over bath, the cloakroom is situated next door.

Through the snug you will find the door to the rear patio; there are three steps from the property to the first patio and there are a further four steps (quite steep) down to the sunken patio area - a brilliant spot to savour the sun's rays with a glass of wine or to sip a morning coffee.

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Please note: care needed in the garden/patio - there are steps from the property to the first patio and a further flight of steps (quite steep) to the bottom patio. The ground is uneven crazy paving.
