The property

This inviting lodge is set in an unbeatable location on the shores of Lake Ullswater within the little village of Watermillock.

Offering a fabulous accommodation for couples, Rampsbeck Lodge is well-placed for those looking to escape the hustle-and-bustle of their normal routines and relax amongst the beauty of the Lake District.

Look forward to unwinding in the open-plan living room, comprised of a snug sitting area with a corner sofa and a flatscreen TV and DVD for entertainment, as well as a delightful kitchen where you can prepare your meals.

Dine alfresco from the patio area, situated at the top of the garden and providing spectacular views over Ullswater and stunning mountains.

As your evening draws to a close, retire to the bedroom, featuring a double bed and enclosed bath and shower.

There is also a separate cloakroom with basin and WC.

Stroll along the shoreline of Ullswater to reach the popular village of Pooley Bridge where you can browse in a selection of independent shops and stop and unwind in one of the quaint tea rooms.

Just a short walk away lies an 18th century pub which serves local food and a selection of ales, should you fancy a drink or two.

About the location

Pooley Bridge 2.5 miles; Glenridding 6.2 miles; Penrith 8.5 miles.

The elevated scattered village of Watermillock runs parallel to the main road alongside Ullswater Lake and is mainly a farming community. Just 2.5 miles away is Pooley Bridge with its array of amenities which sits on the northern shore of the lake in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley originated due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. Glenridding (meaning glen overgrown with bracken) is a small tourist village with a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Watermillock is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
