“The house worked really well for us as we had three generations - spread over 4 floors there are plenty of rooms so everyone had space to do as they pleased - and the kitchen-diner was large enough to accommodate us all comfortably.”

Being an old house the sound insultation was good so noise did not travel. The kitchen was very well equipped and the house comes with three TVs including Sky and BT Sports, a great hit with the young men in the house. The kitchen was very well equipped and the house comes with three TVs including Sky and BT Sports, a great hit with the young men in the house. The house is nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and generally well equipped - it felt like a home from home. Location wise, we had never stayed in Windermere before but really enjoyed the accessibility of the house to the local shops, it meant everyone was independent and able to shop/eat/drink without a car which was nice after spending the day walking. Parking, which I thought might be a bit tricky, was absolutely fine. We were always able to park outside the house with the permit and the other permit enabled us to park in the car park around the corner - where indeed there is also freely available parking on-street parking for non-permit holders - so if you have a third car that is no problem either. We would definitely return.
