“The bed was far too soft for a holiday let and I didnt manage one full nights sleep there.”

As the property is under Moss Cottage the noise from the neighbours above is annoying. Whilst I appreciate the size issue of the bathroom, the bath installed is not one that allows someone to lay back and relax after a day of walks. Unsure why there was a worktop oven and hob in the kitchen when the main oven and hob worked perfectly well, it just took up valuable worksurface space. Fridge needs fixing as the door doesnt close properly and the ice box needs defrosting and fixing. Due to the property being underground there is little air flow through and it is very dry in there when the electric heating is being used leading to dry throats. The general decor of the property was nice but maybe the bathroom could have been done in plain white to make it feel larger.

“The cottage was nice, very cute and quirky which is what we expected.”

However, when we went to cook one evening, the cupboards were dirty and the pans were not clean. Also the facilities are very minimum, a lot less than I have found in other cottages I have stayed in. It was also advertised as having books and games, there were none. There were a couple of good walking books to get ideas from.

“Location and communication great - a great spot, easy walking distance to Windermere.”

However: Should make it clear on listing RE restricted head height - difficult to shower comfortably or walk around kitchen if you’re over 6 foot Broadly clean, but needs a deep clean in some areas (behind bed, bathroom floor) Facilities were limited in kitchen - corkscrew poor, no kitchen foil - some basics I’ve always found in other properties were just not available Overall the property was very dated and needs some TLC.

Off street parking and not being too far away from bars and restaurants of Windermere town is a bonus. All of the facilities you need on a weekend away
