“Looking at reviews 2018 time and time again shower head was mentioned as inadequate.”
This has still not been rectified and it is September 2019. Seriously not suitable for children because it is either piping hot or cold, there didn't seem to be any happy medium.
This has still not been rectified and it is September 2019. Seriously not suitable for children because it is either piping hot or cold, there didn't seem to be any happy medium. We were informed last minute there was no Wi-Fi and had an email off you when we got home asking for feedback whilst we were there but obviously we never got email at cottage so therefore couldn't reply. On saying the above we had a really enjoyable holiday.- Mrs Graham, September 2019
“The cottage was overall modern, spacious and comfortable for a couple and their dog.”
There were several issues as listed below. Garden very untidy and overgrown. No Visitors Information Pack (Just outdated sheet on local eateries and single sheet of useful numbers). Several missing light bulbs, especially in the Bathroom. Walks from doorstep not easy due to lack of good, safe paths. Small leak from shower door. No light in fridge and missing shelves. No freezer. No soap in Bathroom. No spare supplies ie soap pads, dish cloth..- Mrs Jones, September 2019
“The electric sockets in the kitchen, apart from cooker circuit, kept blowing the fuses!”
We had no shower, no downstairs lights, we were repeatedly told someone was coming out, no one did. The internet wasn’t working, we’re told that you were trying to contact owners, nothing happened! We managed to sort lights and shower but could only use one socket in the kitchen! Light bulbs missing from lamps and overhead lights! All in all cottage needs some TLC. Very pretty cottage!- Mrs Jeffery, August 2019
“Great cottage in a nice village.”
Thought it may have been a little over priced though. When we arrived there was no towels so we had to go and purchase a couple of sets. The back garden was a little overgrown and it attracted flies and we had a little problems opening kitchen door when cooking when flies came into kitchen. That said we still enjoyed the stay and would recommend the Yanwath village pub- Ms Bruce, July 2019
“Beds all really hard & springs coming through.”
One of our group had to sleep on the sofa in the end. Shower head wouldn’t stay up at all so had to wedge it or hold on one hand - therefore couldn’t wash yourself properly - it really needs looking at. The DVD machine doesn’t work at all.- Mr Leaper, July 2019
“The cottage was exactly as expected and the garden dog safe.”
The pub up the road was excellent and made the holiday better for me, as I was the only driver, so it meant a few nights off and was able to have a drink!!- Mrs Wickins, July 2019
“The shower is terrible!”
No pressure , water ranges from scalding hot to freezing and shower head doesn’t sit right in the holder making it difficult to get underneath. My 9 year old son was unable to shower at all. Very dissatisfied. Otherwise, we had a very enjoyable stay at barn cottage and in a great location.- Mr Dilks, May 2019
“The property suited us very well because of its great location, however, some bits of it were falling apart a bit.”
For example, a few draws/ wardrobe doors did not have handles and the kitchen only had the very bare minimum in terms of equipment.- Mrs Kinton, April 2019
“After waiting till 4pm to check in, the cottage wasn’t clean we had to hoover and wash floors.”- Ms Stewart, October 2018
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately due to an error Barn Cottage was not serviced in time for your arrival. We want to reassure you that this is is an extremely rare occurrence and we hope the delay did not affect the remainder of your holiday. Owner relations
“Really enjoyed our holiday good location for Ullswater etc,Garden could do with some TLC otherwise great for our dog.”
Outside lights not working and was there a wheelie bin for the rubbish? Nothing spoiled our holiday though really enjoyed our break Thank You.- Mr Waterhouse, October 2018
“We had a really great stay here, excellent location and perfect for our dogs.”
However we did find the beds a bit hard and the shower doesn't fit the holder very well. Other than that this cottage is brilliant and we would consider staying again.- Mrs Jones, September 2018
“Had a brilliant holiday, the cottage was as described and very clean, the dogs loved it, Would stay here again”- Mr Helm, September 2018
“A perfect cottage in a perfect location”- Mrs Plaister, July 2018
“Small things missing eg Bulbs, washing line, cheese grater, caffatier mop”- Mr Dures, June 2018
A beautiful cottage where we have enjoyed a fantastic holiday. Very warm and cosy - lovely beds and very nice furnishings. Have had a very enjoyable week here and would definitely recommend this cottage to others. It is well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The owner has tastefully decorated the cottage and we would definitely return if we wanted to stay in this area in future. The only negative was the shower. The shower head doesn't fit the holder properly and the pressure was very poor, hence the angle that the shower head was at meant it was really just a trickle.- Louise S, September 2017
