    • “Perfect Cottage in the perfect location”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We have just returned from a week in Garth Cottage. The cottage was exceptionally clean and tidy, all the beds made up and towels provided. The kitchen was fully equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and there were also a few dishwasher tablets to get us started. Plus Wi-fi was included and the tv had a Blu-ray player. The instruction manual folder needs updating - we couldn't work out how to empty the vacuum cleaner. The location was ideal, just off the M6, with public footpaths from the doorstep. Great road links to all the Lakes. The cottage has some information leaflets (although they need updating a little). It was a little noisy from the road at the back of the garden (there is no privacy) but this didn't bother us too much. Just a couple of niggles: - garden wasn't fully secure for dogs - there was a hole in the fence to next door's garden and there was a gap under the front gate. We read a previous review about this and took some chicken wire with us, which we put along the gate when we were in so the dogs could roam free. - a separate toilet would have been great - 4 adults queuing for the bathroom... I appreciate this isn't a quick fix but if the owners were looking to do a bit of work, then that is all that is needed Overall, we would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a base in the Lake District.”

    • “The title says it all fab cottage well equipt and perfect for my 2 border collies plenty of places to walk surrounding the cottage Manley only criticism is the fact the front gates have a gap under luckily my dogs were rather chubby and didn't quite get under but a small dog would however would definitely recommend and go back”

    • “Great cottage”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “So this is a great cottage - furnished to a very high standard - huge kitchen which was a pleasure to cook in - loads of pans and baking dishes - dish washer - perfect for a male cook. We loved it - comfy beds - nice and warm house - cable TV - [blessing and a curse] tons of games under TV to play on an evening - huge fridge plus separate freezer. Bunk beds were a hit plus huge shower and oh so deep bath. Furnished and decorated as someones home who now puts it out to let.”

    • “Lovely cottage”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “This cottage is really well equipped and delightful. There was even a bread maker (which we had to try). The garden can be noisy if you need tranquility. We were able to ignore the traffic, but it might be an issue for some people. The owners even provided a lovely comfy dog bed and bowls. There was also dog food if you have remembered to bring any. Only two gripes - Please get rid of the oilcloth on the sun-room table. Mats would be so much nicer. Also, the bathroom has nowhere to store stuff. a freestanding caddy would be good. I would still rate this cottage highly.”

    • “Great place to stay with friendly neighbours. Good quality appliances that work. Ideal for touring the lakes, with some great local pubs. The only thing that would stop me giving this property a ten, is a very busy B road that runs at the bottom of the garden which the two bedrooms overlook and is noisy”

    • “Fabulous family solution for the Lakes”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “This was the perfect solution for a family with 2 children and our labrador. It was spacious, comfortable, very nicely presented and we were so impressed to see a special dog bed and bowls ready for the canine visitor! We were very impressed at how well equipped it was and it represents excellent value for money. Lovely touches included the book and game selection.”

    Mr Evans, Neath, August 2018

    • “Great cottage and wonderful facilities for us a brilliant location so close to pooley bridge. The house was a brilliant size for the 6 adults and a baby crawling around and great for the 2 dogs. The only downfall was the road was very very noisy. had to try to fill gap in fence and under gates to prevent a break out from dogs. The house was lovely however flies galour which may be due to heatwave. Very irritating throughout the stay. Had to get fly traps immediately which made a little help. Helpful tip would be to add that towels ARE provided as I read on feedback they were but on asking was told none provided. They were provided which would have saved extra packing of these items. Would definitely book again.”

    • “A fabulous house in a fabulous setting!!”

    Mrs Penman, Dundee, July 2018

    • “A fantastic cottage. Would have helped if the garden was more secure for dogs - there was a hole in the fence to next door's garden and there was a gap under the main gate. We took some chicken wire to cover the gap so the dogs could run free, but it would have been nicer if there was something more permanent. The instruction folder in the cottage and the information leaflets all need updating - we couldn't find the manual for the vacuum cleaner in order to empty it. The garden table is broken - useable but broken on the top. We couldn't work out how to put the washing line down (to allow us more room to sit and park outside). A separate toilet would have helped us as well (but we appreciate this is a massive ask). If the owners were looking at doing some work, this would be the 1st thing I would do. Overall, we had a fantastic time and the cottage worked perfectly for us. Would definitely consider rebooking if we were to come back.”

    Mrs Jacobs, Swadlincote, June 2018

    • “Hi when we arrived everything was clean and tidy there was only 1 toilet roll and we did want to look for a shop as we were all tied from travelling the alarm in the lounge needs a new battery as it beeps which is anoying The bathroom door lock broken and my daughter got stuck inside The area was beautiful and we had a fabulous week Brenda Dalton”

    • “Fab cottage with great space and facilities. We had a small unexpected problem but the owner was extremely helpful and sorted everything out-going above and beyond. Would recommend Garth cottage and would re book”

    Dr Cooper, Blaydon-on-Tyne, February 2018

    • “Although clean. There was a lot of flies inside the cottage and around the patio and kitchen door. There was no fly spray available so a trip to a Penrith supermarket was required. Also thought was quite expensive given the available facilities. Regards”
