The famous village of Grasmere is full of quaint and characterful historic places and buildings including the well known Ginger Bread Shop, and is also the final resting place of William Wordsworth at the St Oswald’s Church.
Grasmere was once the home of William Wordsworth, you can still visit two of his homes in this area Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount.
This thriving village is full of delicious bakeries and cafes offering perfect lunch box treats. Stroll around the village, feed the ducks along the river and enjoy afternoon tea at one the many cafes in the village.
There are many gift shops and walking wear shops in the village, plus traditional pubs offering bar meals and Sunday lunches by the fire. Grasmere as the name states has its own lake, just south of the village and is a must see when you visit this special place.
