    “Overall the house was good.”

The downstairs communal areas were excellent and easily accommodated our extended family of 24. The kitchen, dining, cosy lounge and games room were in constant use and felt very comfortable. The single large fridge we found to be in adequate for our group and in the Summer we're sure it would certainly not cope with drinks and food. The showers were pretty useless and believe there was only one that was ok out of the 7 on offer.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We really do appreciate it as it gives us the opportunity to continually improve our properties making the guests experience that more enjoyable. Valley View is an amazing property and we do try to make it home-from-home so guests have everything they need. I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with the showers. I've spoken to the out of hours team and this issue was not reported to them at the time otherwise the property managers would have came to assist in getting the showers working. It sounds like despite this you had a good time and how lovely for all 24 of you to be together in one house. Best Wishes Julie Property Owner

About the location

DALTON-IN-FURNESS

Ulverston 5 miles.

The ancient town of Dalton-in-Furness lies in a narrow valley on that part of the Furness Peninsula which extends deep into Morecambe Bay. Once the leading town of Furness, Dalton has a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The architecture of the town includes some interesting buildings in and around the market place, as well as an elegant Victorian drinking fountain, the market cross and slabs of stone used for fish drying in the 19th century. The 14th-century pele tower, known as Dalton Castle, was originally a place of refuge for the monks of nearby Furness Abbey, an impressive sandstone ruin nestling in a peaceful wooded valley. Within easy reach of the town are the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, the world's only Laurel and Hardy museum at Ulverston and the Haventhwaite Steam Railway which runs to Lakeside, where you can board a steam train for Bowness or Ambleside. Just north of Dalton-in-Furness is the stunning Duddon Estuary and Duddon Valley, with Cartmel, Holker Hall and Grizedale Forest within easy reach. Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and surrounded by mountains and beaches, this area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
